Howard Wilson drafted in 4th round by Cleveland

Did not expect this.

Too early. This isn’t an Ayers thing, this is a Greenberry thing.

Good for him if he goes. He should be drafted pretty high, especially if he runs as fast as I’ve heard (4.38). This will help recruiting.

I don’t blame him; make the money and he probably doesn’t want to have yet another DC.

We’ll be OK. KaDarian Smith, Javian Smith, and Rosette will hopefully step up and hopefully Winchester will get better. We’ll probably also find a JUCO and we’ve got a couple of guys committed.

Projected 3rd-5th round. Maybe improves on that coming back for another year but i don’t blame him at all. Could go even higher with a solid pro day. Getting more Coogs in the NFL these past few years will do wonders for our recruiting.

Good for him!

I think he needed another year, but a fast 40 time can help that. I don’t blame him as there is risk with a new defense and head coach, go ahead and get drafted now. I do believe he would have another good year and be talked about like William Jackson though.

Interesting thing I saw when I looked him up and his recruiting profile popped up. He didn’t commit to us until January 19th, a couple weeks before signing day. So who knows what recruits could flip and be the next top corner!

did someone say No. 24… oh boy…am rooting as hell for the young man but wowser, he sure did get burned a lot last season.
Hope he surprises us next season and improves his technique and instincts. His effort is undeniably outstanding…it’s just the little details that needs polishing …

Howard Wilson is #6, Jeremy Winchester is #24.

I don’t see the greenberry comparison. Dude is probably more ready than Ayers was.

Ayers had the development of his game down even though he lacked some physical assets, e.g. size and speed.

Greenberry had the physical aspects, but lacked development. He needed another year at the collegiate level, and he would have probably gotten drafted.

H. Wilson may very likely get drafted because of his physical skill set, but I think he needs another year to develop his skills at the collegiate level before going in the draft. I think he could make more money by going higher if he waited a year.

UH is in trouble if Winchester is starting again. Hopefully I’m wrong, but he is who he is after seeing him played a lot in two years.

Yeah, Winchester was a definite liability. Hopefully he gets better now through spring.

He can improve his draft stock next year imo

Probably too early, but he already sat out a year because of injury and will be on his 3rd DC since he’s been here. If he can make money, I don’t blame him.

Now, hopefully he gets drafted as Greenberry’s situation shows the danger in assuming such things. However, CBs with Wilson’s cover skills are hard to find so he should be in good shape as long as his 40 is good.

Well its official. He just announce on twitter he’s out!
