Blaming the fans? I am merely calling a spade a spade. The actual attendance didn’t mimic the announced attendance. By the time the game starts, fans should be in their seats our crowd is late arriving.
Make that most tickets sold in 7 years, but a whole bunch of the folks holding them were not in their seats. I am probably the most poly guy on here, but sometimes you have to just tell it like it is. If you think that is insufferable, you are very thin skinned.
I was at the Memphis game in 2021 when we were 9-1. We sold 28k but I’d say we were closer to 24k for that game.
This was way better than that crowd. I’d say we were 32-33k tonight.
Having perspective doesn’t make me thin skinned considering I’ve been the one pointing out to our myopic fanbase on here that we are far from being a recognizable brand in football.
I will say that our fans lacked energy tonight for all that were in attendance, but that will change when TCU comes to visit.

I was part of the late arriving crowd. couldn’t get my tickets to load on my phone. so had to spend about 20 min getting all my season tickets printed. Have i mentioned recently how i dislike technology?

Back when I could attend games, even back in the Astrodome days, a man who lives in Houston and sat by us always arrived about the middle of the 1st quarter and left in the middle of the 4th, no matter what the score was.

Well you’re dead wrong on this one the crowd came in late but there were very few empty seats by the time the first quarter ended.

I watched the game and stadium looked full to me. Granted there are always empty seats; people are eating, talking, people watching etc. and not in their seats.
Also, this was UTSA, not UT. While it is our first game as a Big 12 member, it is not our first game against a Big 12 team. I would imagine a better turnout in three weeks.

You are dreaming Mike. UH crowds are always late arriving, be it football or basketball.
Seen it for 55+ years……I don‘t expect it to change.
Also, announced attendance is always tickets sold. True everywhere so all you counters ……get over it !!

Scalpers have definitely bought season tickets to cash in on UT game but this was best crowd in a long time, lots of people in upper decks i was there and happy with the crowd, the students even stayed to the end that really surprised me

I was there, and got to bring a new fan who committed to come to every home game. And the crowd was meh, deff no 2015 Louisville, but that will be hard to beat honestly.

We had enough people for one woman to pass out behind me and need the medical crew, another girl to throw up, and another chick nezt to me (borrowing someone’s season tickets) to hit on me (I’m married).
It was at least as good as The Rob ever got. #win

It was a very good crowd. Hats off to everyone who baked in that sun until about 7:30. Once the sun went down, it was very tolerable. Wish we could have started at 7 pm.

I thought it was a pretty good turnout. Especially for 100 degree weather against UTSA. I was surprised by UTSA fans. They showed up and were pretty loud in the first half. I wanna see what the crowd is like at the TCU game. The 7 pm start time helps a little

No way was the stadium 80% filled (or more!). The students showed up, but other than that, most sections in the lower bowl were about 60% filled. Some upper deck sections were far less than 50% filled. Let’s say 26-27k at best. That said, it was the best crowd in years.

I was actually at the game and it was a great crowd.
Not sure why we have to keep repeating the same thing but many people with 300 level seats hang out in the concourse. It looked and felt like 37k fans
