#htowntakeover to Austin

UT Medical School Houston has been there since 1970.

Does NCAA rules prevent the use of practice time for scrimmage with another school? Seems to me that would be the best way to iron out any last minute kinks especially since both schools are already there.

Fine with this, CTH gets to assess his former team and point out the kinks.
Go Coogs!

Hump that Sunshine Policy! They’re only planning when they can cash in. :rage:

I don’t think San Antonio has any practice bubbles available, the Alamodome was probably unavailable, and the storm should dump quite a bit of rain there.

If the team ends up having to stay longer, they’re only about an hour away up in Austin, if not, it was closer to Houston than any other alternative that wasn’t up Highwsy 6.

Needless to say, got to tip the hat to the Longhorns, and Baylor, SMU, and TCU for offering. If DeLoss Dodds was still in charge, we probably would have had to go out of state.

They keep extending the time that we’ll get heavy rains so the team may just be heading up I-35 for the game.

If it’s allowed, I’d think some scrimmage work against another team would be very beneficial for both sides.

Should I have been more generic and said “they still don’t get to open another campus South West of our campus,” so you can follow easier?

Every one here knows exactly what you meant to say. My apology for trying to correct what you actually wrote.

I remember in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, a bunch of us was trying to help with the “refuge” here in Houston. Most were very appreciative which was nice, but there were some that act as if we owe it to them or that we have some ulterior motives for being there. Lets not be like those jerks.

If we ever host UT because of some disaster at their place, would we want a simple thank you in return or a bunch of complaint about past wrongs?

I dislike UTA and the way our former coach left as much as anyone here, but lets be mature about it and move on. It is better for the program. Maybe an event like this can be mutually beneficial to both of us and lead the way to better things.

I get you. A repeated history of getting screwed by them shouldn’t keep us from trusting their motives right?

I posted on another site but this is very disappointing to those who went to school at UH and have lived it’s history

Yes, maybe they will figure out how to beat Kansas while we show them how to practice

Maybe we should win a game or two under the new head coach before we claim any expertise.

A UT alum saw practice and said it is much better than under Charlie.

Funny, reminds me of some UH alum who was posting about seeing Tom Herman’s practices in Houston saying they weren’t as good as Tony Levine’s.
