Hughey: "really excited about where we're taking the program and the expectations this year."

"But, I also know that we did a really job in recruiting to bring in some nice pieces: KeAsja Peace , who sat out last year, is 6’3 and can play the 4 and the 5. Stretch the floor to the three-point line and score around the basket.

"Then, we have Bria Patterson a 6-foot guard that can play the one, two, three, and four; and, we expect great things out of (her).

Maya Jones - because Octavia Barnes and Myyah West are both from Mississippi - we went back to Mississippi and got Maya Jones who’s a 6’2” four-player that can guard every single position on the floor. One through 5. We’re really excited about her because we hadn’t had a four player, at that size, that can get to the rim and shoot the three.

“Just really, really excited about where we’re taking the program and the expectations this year.”

Interesting…Blackshell-Fair at PG. She did well in high school at that position.

The team always seems to be short-handed from a depth standpoint. I think, at least the last 3 years, they’ve had to play with 7-8 total players available. Would be nice to go 10 deep, especially with the style of play.

Cautiously optimistic about this season due to some of the talent, but also worried about losing Angela Harris and starting the season short-handed.
