If that Coach didn't come from Wazzu, we would likely be the Houston Greyhounds

I’m not even sure that the greyhounds were the dogs we were most likely to be named after.

Cullen Blvd. was originally St. Bernard St.

What a life.

Grayhounds are really quick. And what’s the matter with the “Houston Hounds”?? Mascot with humongous floppy ears?

I always liked the UH “Mad Dog” defense.

I’m glad we’re the cougars and red and white. We actually have the best mascot and colors.

John Bender.

By the way, the first letter sweaters awarded to his Houston Junior College baseball team were purple and white, 1927 maybe 1928. I’d have to look up my notes.

Houston Oilers would have been cool.

I thought they were royal blue and white? Or were the sweaters not in the team color for some reason?
