In Uvalde, this is what you get for the 40% of your budget spent on police

Let’s just rush in because the cops aren’t doing anything like they are supposed to,” Javier Cazares, whose daughter Jacklyn was killed in the attack, told the AP. “More could have been done.”

“There were five or six of [us] fathers, hearing the gunshots, and [police officers] were telling us to move back,” Cazares told the Washington Post. “We didn’t care about us. We wanted to storm the building. We were saying, ‘Let’s go,’ because that is how worried we were, and we wanted to get our babies out.”

In an interview Wednesday evening with San Antonio outlet KENS 5, a fourth grader who said he had been hiding in a classroom indicated that police officers’ actions may have caused another child who was hiding from the shooter to get shot.

“When the cops came, the cop said, ‘Yell if you need help!’ And one of the persons in my class said ‘help.’ The guy overheard, and he came in and shot her,” said the boy. “The cop barged into that classroom. The guy shot at the cop. And the cops started shooting.”

I don’t know the full context here, but in what scenario does a kid need to yell for help in a school shooting situation

They all needed help. If true, stupid decision the policeman made

Uvalde police are having to change/revise their version of what happened as more information comes out.

One story going around was that an officer went in to save his kid who was in school and not engaged the shooter.

The shooter was taken out by a CBP officer, not Uvalde police.

Uvalde poilice were threatening to tazer parents who wanted to save their kids when the police would not.

Here a little video of what was happening outside the building.

Apparently one of the ladies in the video was the mother of a child that was murdered

This is why the good guy with the gun is a fallacy.

Uvalde police failed their community in a huge way.

The Uvalde tactical team did not show up in time, an elite CBP team responded are the ones who took out the shooter.

The Uvalde officers should resign for failing to serve and protect.

So it was 4 members of Border patrol who went in and stopped the shooter. They were in a stack formation and I’m hearing that one of the four was actually off duty at the time of the shooting.

It seems like the shooter could of done way more harm but was unaware that he was the only one with a gun in the building for a while.

That group of CBP officers are the real deal elite operators. Not your regular CBP guys who sit an an SUV all day staring at open range.

Yeah they were BORTAC
One with a shield
Two shooting from behind the shield and the last one was medical

A mom with no training or tactical gear did more.

It can certainly help but it isn’t the solution as some wants it to be.

So a tactical trained team waited but we think teachers with guns could do the job?

The DPS press conference they just held was unacceptable.

It took an hour to get in the room.

Remember, classroom doors open out for safety. How was he barricaded in?

Something tells me we won’t be hearing from Gov Abbott for awhile, sure he’ll show up for NRA tomorrow and pick up his check but they’re gonna let Texas DPS take the fall now.

I feel sorry for those cops. They are probably decent human beings but they will be branded as cowards. It will follow them around the rest of their days. I hope the reports are wrong.

What the hell does cops not performing their duty have to do with those parents being able to rush the school with their own weapons?

If the cops weren’t restraining the parents they would’ve ended this much sooner…

Instead they waited 90 minutes before entering from what I understand.

Actually, this story only makes the argument to let teachers carry even stronger.

I assume those cops were following orders. I don’t blane them.
But there is reason they wanted to go in as a tactical team. Because you can’t just walk up to person with gun. Anybody approaching was being shot at. If the trained tactical team needed to do it slow no way arming teachers would help

Amazing to me to see us as a society become so numb to these tragic events. We have lost our way. With folks like the Gov leading us over the cliff.

Look at the pictures of the victims and then have people say they are numb to it.
