I’ll actually be in Lafayette from the 26-30th… will definitely be wearing my Houston stuff the whole time I’m there. I’ll see if I can make my way to Shreveport.

That we’re only favored by four against a 6-6 Sun Belt West team is dispiriting, but I can’t argue with it.

Independence Bowl is cool, though. Good name and history behind it. If they could get a P5 (or AAC or MWC) opponent I’d be cool with a Big 12 tie-in.

Probably. Before we lost that game I was predicting the Independence Bowl if Tulane was playing in Cotton.

Back in 2010 in college I worked in Shreveport at 20 during the Summer. During that time I turned 21. They have casinos that I used to play Blackjack at after my 40 hours in 4 days work week. They rarely offered OT or I would have took it. I just played the 5 dollar hands so I could play for hours straight and basically break even. At that time was paid 32.95 an hour to change commercial water meters as a contractor for Shreveport.

I remember our company changed Independence Bowl meter. Ever since 2010 I hav wanted to go to a game there. Also, my sister played one year of softball at Bossier Parrish Community College.

I just checked the list and it’s honestly a pretty good one assuming it holds.

    Highest-ranked available Big 12 team, if it’s not the Big 12 Champion.

  2. Valero Alamo Bowl vs Pac-12

  3. Cheez-It Bowl vs ACC

  4. Mercari Texas Bowl vs SEC

  5. AutoZone Liberty Bowl vs SEC

  6. Guaranteed Rate Bowl vs Big Ten

Had to look up a couple. Cheez-It is Tangerine in Orlando, and Guaranteed Rate is Copper/Cactus.

I sorely wish bowls still had real names.

Bowls are about to really not matter when cfp expands. Shoot, Saban finally said it on tv on every broadcast he could get on that bowls outside the cfp don’t matter to the teams anymore.

Outside of the cfp sounds like bowl games are only for the diehards.

I like the New Orleans, Memphis, San Antonio, and Houston locations for Big 12 bowls.

I thought there was a tie in to a bowl game in El Paso?

Sun Bowl is apparently ACC and Pac-12, which seems like a bit of a waste. Perfect location for Big 12 vs Pac-12.
