This doesn’t make any sense. Elvin is a guard. We have Shead, Cryer, Sharp, Wilson and Dunn. Does it hurt losing TA + Ramon? Sure but we’re not desperate with the guards to a point where they would have to make a decision to lose Jefferson’s redshirt or put Ryan in. Now in the front court we obviously are shorter in depth losing JoJo. Sampson isn’t pulling McFarland’s redshirt at this juncture. Next man up is Lath and that’s who they’re rolling with.

I think we can win even with Lath, Dunn, and Wilson playing heavy minutes. As long as the other team doesn’t go nuclear from 3pt range we will be in a close game
That’s what I’m afraid of every tournament.
Being in the Big 12 means that we cannot bully ball every opponent and come out victorious like the AAC just because we have more talent.
Not to mention that there is always a high powered offense that can catch us on an off night like Kansas or put us in an early deficit like the first Iowa State game.
I want all three.
With that OP hypothetical, most coaches will look at it in regards to the credibility of the sport. You can’t just go into it and lay down because who knows what type of situation you might be in down the line. Where two teams could be potentially vying for an at-large bid and the other team you’re in competing with faces a team that rests all their starters and don’t put up any type of fight. If it were me, I’d play my starters, but I would be playing my entire bench, giving everyone playing time, and depending on how things looked after 5-7 minutes in the 2nd half would determine who I’d be playing the rest of the way.
How much more nuclear can anyone go from 3 point range than OU did?
