ISU: Leath doesn’t feel ‘compelled’ to expand Big 12 right now

:joy: LOL

Leath gave himself away early in the article …

$$30$$ million/member for a perennial bottom dweller like the cyclones doesn’t happen except in the P5s and he isn’t about to share it with any new members

Leath also knows TOO WELL ISU will never see that much ever again should the Big12 collapse in the near future.

Uhhh … plus he is waiting for a good/the right team to show up …

most in the Big12 have been waiting for ISU to show up for decades now and

its no secret all the current 3 finalist would make mincemeat outa the cyclones on a routine basis …

Another Big 12 President out the door. KSU, Kansas, Baylor, and Tech have all left in the past year. This is the 2nd that left due to “issues.”

But in recent months, Leath faced criticism, audits and investigations after he acknowledged he used university planes for trips that mixed personal and official business and privately bought a $1.1 million piece of land with Rastetter’s company.

And yet Boren remains.

He said nothing newsworthy, but that’s big news in Ames. Put a fork in that league, and good riddance.

Although this accorded in June 2015, you could also add Texas’s president, Bill Powers, leaving due to “issues.” I believe I read he was asked to resign due to personal issues and a potential divide between him and the Board of Regents.

You’re correct

will he feel COMPELLED in a few years when okie and whorn bail on the league??? What a dumbass…he deserves what he is going to get in 5 or 6 years, that is OBLIVION…

The Big 12 is on life support and they don’t even know it. It amuses me that they will be trying to sell advertising for games shown in Houston/SE Texas. I cannot imagine the spin they will have to build into their sales pitch to counter the reality of a diminished presence in this market. Advertisers better get ready for a truck load of alt facts.

Um, Leath took the Auburn job.

Semi related, that means Auburn’s president (and Renu Khator’s predecessor) Jay Gogue is retiring -
