Jalen Hurts is a fan of UH

Goes to show that if we were in a P5, we would be able to attract top Houston area talent by our university’s name alone

So the historic coaches he knows are all Alabama coaches. Roll Tide. It doesn’t seem like he knows anything about OU history.

Man I think he forgot where he was for a minute.

Jalen went to Channelview HS just east of Houston close to SH toll 8 east …

He is just stating that he would get his posters/pictures signed when he attended UH games as a yewt.

Nothing new here … move along …

Coach Averion Hurts, Jalen’dad, played football at Howard Payne. He started coaching at MacArthur HS and then became Defensive Coordinator at R E Lee in Baytown under offensive guru Dick Olin who helped start the 7on7 and the La vs Texas All Star HS game which was played in Baytown Stallworth Stadium. Hurts went back to his old high school Channelview to become head coach when Jalen was still in middle school. Thru his dad and Olin, Jalen was exposed to the local universities especially UH as well as a high powered offense. UH coaches frequently came by Lee. Olin always ran a high powered offense and coached a number of top quality HS and college QB’s including his son Drew Tate (Iowa), Bryan Johnson (Utah) our old OC and Florida’s OC, 2010 Walton Payton Winner Jeremy Moses (SFA) and Kyler Murray at Lewisville. My wife reminded me about Clint Stoerner, Olin’s first big QB, who was QB at Arkansas and then a back up for the Cowboys and Dolphins.
