In four years, the BC coach is 21-24 overall and 12-20 in the ACC. He’s reached six wins three times in four years but the first two potential bowls were Covid cancelled. This year’s conference wins are vs UVA, Syracuse and GA Tech.

BC also has a lower average recruit ranking than UH for the 2024 class.

Coach had pro coaching experience and was co-DC at OSU when hired.

Help me to understand why this is the guy @Pollardsvision on other stats because he obviously loses h2h matchups…?

Kyle, I’m not advocating for either guy.

But I don’t think it’s apples to apples when you compare them to each other.

We clearly have more talent than those teams to go along with better facilities….Beating those two schools should be expected.
Both of those coaches do a great job and coach in tougher circumstances.

Fritz is right guy IMO

Dana is 2-2 against Fritz, with the two wins by multiple scores and the losses in OT and on that crazy fake spike.

Not that it should be too big a deal but it’s pretty interesting that Dana is 4-2 against the two most common names on here to replace him.

I don’t really understand all of the head to head comparisons….

If we are going to do that, then start looking at how each fared against common opponents….

Also, let’s not for get how much of an advantage Dana has with facilities, P-5 label….

Both of those guys have below par facilities and do more with less.

I’m not advocating for either guy with this post but let’s dig a little deeper if we are going to compare them.

But since we’re getting into it. 2021 always gets denigrated based on schedule. Tulane’s schedule so far this season makes our 2021 look like a run through the SEC West. Tulane is ranked 58th in Sagarin right now. They were good and played good teams last year but the Cincy team that beat us in the AAC championship likely would have beaten them too and the NY6 resume boost doesn’t happen.

Fritz was also just OK/fine his first six years. Tulane has historically been pretty bad, and expounded on it with some really questionable hires, but had a lot going for them under Fritz they didn’t have historically. Yulman vs. an empty Super Dome is a huge difference. He doesn’t survive that 2-10 season in his sixth year at just about any other school, including here.

Not saying either guy wouldn’t be an upgrade, but putting aside that Dana seems kind of checked out in anticipation of being fired, if the marginal cost of moving from Dana to Traylor or Fritz went to fund NIL instead my hot take is I kind of think Dana puts a better team out there than those guys. Belk looked like a great DC when we had Sack Ave. I know that can’t happen but I’m guarded about looking at any of these guys as saviors.
