Just for some sunshine

We lost by 8 to a top 10 team in the road in arguably the toughest environment in 40 years and Coog fans want to change the QB, fire coordinators, and throw themselves off the old Enron building. This goes back to our collective Jungian shadow: insecurity

Situation normal.

So aside from going bowling, what else are we playing for? We are not gonna play for the BIG 12 title and we are not going to the playoffs. So if I am an NFL caliber tight end like Overmyer, why would I come back and play the rest of the season? I am having a hard time seeing how the rest of the season is significant in any way.

How can you even write that?
UCF beat BYU
Cinci beat teetech
Arizona is a top 25 team.
WV is no slouch.
We are 6-2 and 3-2 in conference play. Nobody knows what’s ahead. Are we out of it? Maybe but nobody thought UCF or Cinci would win. Live sports is not EA sports. Some of you draw conclusions was too fast.

Exactly - we are just getting our feet wet with a growing big time football program.

With a comment like this you have obviously never been a part of any sort of TEAM. We have a lot to play for. Remember the Texas Bowl last year? You play for each other!

In addition to all the “Debbie-Downers” and “Negative Nancy’s”, it appears we have some common sense folks on here posting, who DON’T believe the sky is falling.

The last several posters have said all the things I’m feeling, after this tough loss, and I, VERY MUCH appreciate having you guys on here.

Please keep posting.

Go Coogs!

Are you not familiar with the game of college football? There’s a lot of games left and teams like BYU and Tech can lose again, especially if they both lost to unranked teams.

And even not making it, Texas and Pop Tart bowls are prestigious bowls that can have 70k fans at the games.

And they were right. His release point is about shoulder high. He needs to fix that if he wants to play in the NFL.

We need Tech to lose three (won’t happen) and BYU to lose again (unlikely).

If Tech loses to another unranked team, it could drop them further. If Houston wins out and climbs back, they could still sneak into the playoffs. It all depends on the other teams. The quality of opponents are the keys too.

How would that get UH in the playoff?

Obviously, we need help with other team loses. But Houston would have to finish 10–2, and its playoff chances would depend on its ranking, schedule strength and the other contenders’ results. Mathematically, there’s still a probability.

If there aren’t anymore ranked teams on the schedule, I wonder how they would be able to climb the polls to get in. They would need to be in the top 12. I guess it depends on what UH will be ranked in the next poll.

So what if they dont make the playoff? They still have a chance to go 10-2 and go to a great bowl game. What is wrong with some of you, are you fans of our team or not? At least most people posting here still think we have a chance to have a great year. We can go to the Alamo Bowl, or the Texas Bowl. Both bowls are affiliated with the Big 12. We still have 4 games to play. i am hoping we can win them. Some of yall have no appreciation for how good we are, and how far we’ve come…I sat in an almost empty stadium and watched Dimel’s teams play…I know how far we’ve come.

9-3, then 10-2.

We’ll take it.

He was getting attention before Oklahoma St and he played great. Getting a little carried away aren’t we?

A chance at back-to-back 10 win seasons. Something that has never been achieved in UH football history.

True. Never has happened. The 35-34 loss to Notre Dame prevented it from happening in 1978-79. One lousy point.

That’s on us. (not us on this board, Coog fans/Houstonians in general)

Well said, Aggie. Go over to the cesspool and continue making it a QB graveyard.
