Sumlin is headed to the newly-formed USFL. The 59-year-old will coach the Houston Gamblers in the eight-team, 10-game league. The USFL will begin its season in April.
What a complete joke. I always root for the home team but I hope he loses every game.

Yes. I can just see all the UH and Aggie alums flocking in to see Sumlin coach again! Although now that I think about there may be some Aggies show up expecting to see Johnny Football again.

Maybe Summie can use some of our guys that do not go NFL. Let’s see if we can make some money off USFL/Gamblers ! Just a thought .

I think these gigs usually work out for most all involved.
Only redeeming aspect is the prospect of hot cheerleaders.
Sumlin burned his bridges with Cougar fans, but good luck to him anyways. Maybe pro football will work out better than college football has. Hope his heart is in it, because it seems like it wasn’t in his most recent stops.

How do you even develop a fan base that way?!( might as well leave out city names and just say the red team is playing the blue team)If the reason is to save on travel cost and do it on the cheap….heck, no sense in even starting the league……over before it starts.

So instead of this 1/2 and 1/2 jerseys moms wear when they have a son on each team, residents of BHam will have one jersey with 7 teams.
