Sorry Willowbrook Mall, but when I think of Willowbrook, I don’t think of the Mall, I think of Willowbrook State School in New York City, a state run institution for people with intellectual disabilities, and the 1972 national scandal for the horrible conditions for patients and questionable medical practices. Willowbrook State School closed for good in the mid-1980s…

I think of Willowbrook Mall. It’s a mall in Houston. It’s a place where people go shopping. I don’t know when it opened, but it is still open I think.

Yes, Gulf Gate was first mall in Houston, in the early 60s… i live right off Nasa parkway. Its more like an an hour and 30 min from our stadium than 30 min…no surprise, since its in Pasadena, not Houston. The writer never been here, i think.

That old mall has almost disappeared…Baybrook Mall is where people in Pasadena and Clear Lake go…it is off west Bay Area blvd.

The article does say its the largest mall in Houston. They probably just googled largest mall and put it in there knowing nothing about shopping in Houston.
I remember, once upon a time, there was a po po sub station in the mall. I also remember that someone tagged the po po’s vehicles . . . . .
