He’s on the cusp

Demarion is leaning 5-6

188. Damarion Williams, CB, Houston (5-10, 182)

According to his teammates and coaches, Williams was the most competitive player on the Cougars’ team, and the tape evidence backs that up, closing out early release separation and playing through the hands of receivers downfield. He needs to improve his eye discipline because it will be tougher to make up lost steps vs. NFL talent. Overall, Williams doesn’t have high-level size or speed, but his feisty play personality, lower body twitch and nose for the ball are translatable traits. He projects best as a nickel cornerback in the NFL.

He’s a steal for the team that gets him that late

David falls in the same category late 5 or 6

David Anenih, Edge, Houston (6-2, 245)

Anenih is a bendy rusher with the arc speed to capture the corner, but he is still crafting his counters when he doesn’t win with his first step. Though he sets a firm edge and plays relentless in pursuit, he can be washed in the run game and lacks point-of-attack technique. Overall, Anenih has tweener traits and is still unpolished for an older prospect, but his get-off quickness, versatile athleticism and length are draftable ingredients. He isn’t scheme-dependent but projects best as a rush linebacker in a 3-4 scheme.

Kolton Miller Award: Logan Hall, DT, Houston

Most likely to be considered a reach on draft day, then regarded as a fantastic pick two years later

Edwards: Last year, it was Houston’s Payton Turner who was regarded as a first-round reach when he was taken by the Saints. Turner and Hall have similar frames with Hall being a little larger. The latter is a better player right now compared to where his teammate had been a year earlier. Hall was among a group of prospects who I wrote would receive first-round consideration despite not getting deserving buzz in the media.

I sure hope the Texans consider drafting him. Not only is he deserving to be drafted in the 1/2 round but think of a “win/win” for the Texans and U of H. The Texans have to rebuild from zero credibility to be a “real” NFL franchise with a passionate home base. IMO Logan is a major “steal” in the second round. He is going to be a terrific NFL player.

Logan would be a major steal in the 2nd round, but I think he will go in the 1st.

Thank you for posting. IMO Logan is one of the main unique player in this draft. From a D.C. point of view he creates an immediate impact to a left or right tackle. You find the right “rythm” with an ILB and you create immediate havoc. I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HIM PLAY.

I’m hoping the Texans pick up MJ in the 3rd……they need all the good field position they can get.

I’m one of the folks who really believes he can be a Pro Bowl caliber nickel back. He really can cover.

I agree 100%……I just mentioned the return aspect of his game but he can also be a great slot corner….super “twitchy”

“I actually have Hall going among the final picks of the first round, so I’m cheating here in calling him a sleeper.”

In Daniel Jeremiah’s final mock draft he has Hall going to Tampa Bay at the back end of the first.

Josh Norris has him going earlier than that to Green Bay.

I would love to see Logan to the Bills. Combine with Ed and the rest of their defense…

Wonder if Ed has gotten used to the Buffalo cold ?

I was there for two days in January several years ago….Lake effect snow :snowflake: and blustery……coldest I have ever been in my life….all 2 minutes and 45 seconds of my accumulated outdoor time while I was there.

But yes, it would be very cool to see them on the same line wreaking havoc.
