that’s a pretty cool thread, there are some old SWC programs from 20s-30s in there.

Not much to argue when it’s fact. OU, Alabama, SC, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Florida, aTm, LSU, FSU, UNC, Kentucky, Stanford, Arizona, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Ole Miss, Colorado all are using logos/branding that were new, significantly redesigned or refreshed less than 30 years ago. Quite a few less than 20. There’s been a lot of tinkering going on for the so called iconic logos.
Crimes against humanity.
It comes from the explosion of college enrollment with the original GI Bill after WW2. Particularly among sailors coming from the Navy, since they’re smarter than the others and did a lot of technical work 
. Our “Eat em Up” cheer came from the General Quarters bugle call aboard ship.
