Marcus Jones certainly deserves strong consideration for defense back of the year. The powers that vote for awards have not given the Heisman to a defense back in my memory. It is always a ballyhooed quarterback or a running back of huge yardage totals.And that too, from a team that is in the National Sports news.

Oddly Jones wasn’t consensus AAC special teams player of the year or even 1st team return specialist. Don’t know who got a vote over him.

Williams did 17 reps, 34.5 vertical jump and 118 broad jump. Don’t see anything for Jones. FWIW, a lot of players don’t have anything either.
