Marcus Sasser

I think CKS will level with each player and advise them what he thinks is best for them personally, regardless of whether it is best for UH. I believe the kids trust him to put their best interests first. The players talk and they are our best recruiters. When recruits hear that kind of thing about a coach, it creates trust; same goes for the parents. What mother of father wouldn’t want Sampson looking out for their son?

Yeah Sampson will always be honest and say/do what’s best for the kids

Sasser gettin’ drafted by nobody. The league will want proof foot is completely healed before even looking at him. That will require a full season of no injuries. He ain’t going nowhere.

Suspect that’s right But he could decide to prove it in pro ball vs at UH

If he played the full year, he was gonna be drafted.

The more I think about it, the more I think he comes back.

Because his game is gonna have a little rust, because he’s gotta rest that foot. The G League ain’t gonna allow you to “work off the rust”.

If you’re bricking shots in the G League, you’re cut. Bye. Next stop overseas.

Robbie has barely even played yet and your saying he can’t shoot or he’s overweight but yet Walker is a lights out shooter and playmaker and only has about 7 points?

Robbie is better than what you think

Did I say Robbie was overweight?

I said Emmanuel Sharp, has to work his body. You’re mixing it up.

It probably sounds like I’m hating on Robbie. I’m not. You’re probably right that Ramon isn’t way ahead of Robbie as a player

But Coach Sampson has definitely talked up Ramon more.

Not sure Roper and Fears were in the same category of our current pair lol. And I don’t remember that ‘70s bunch being very good.
Not saying you are wrong, just don’t remember those guys ever starting.
I do remember Fears could really jump. They were both Houston kids. Were they from Jones?

Rank these guards for next year: Ramon Walker, Armbrester, Arceneaux, Emmanuel Sharp

With the injuries we have this season, great opportunity to see what Ramon Walker and Armbrester have

Could those guys get better next year, sure. But Arceneaux looks legit. #30 prospect by rivals in 2022.

So that leaves Sharp, Walker and Armbrester battling for that 5th guard spot

(Assuming Sasser, Mark, Shead all return as well)

Three of them are forwards? Not being smart(totally). Are small forwards considered as guards by some

Who’s a forward? Robbie? He’s 6’ 4"

The Small forward position is a guard in our system.

We play with a point guard and 2 wings/shooters.

Heard a lot of good things about Sharp but we really won’t get a feel for his game until he actually plays.
I know coach has raved about his shooting and he will get his chance to learn the culture.
Arcenaux is very good and probably starts or the first guy off the bench.
Ramon will have the rest of this year to show what he can do.
We know Ramon hustles and is not afraid to take a charge.
I really think Ramon is going to surprise with his offensive game and I think he will play very well under pressure. And oh yeah he can hit free throws.
Next year is going to be something else. Mark and Sasser (if he returns) would be certain starters along with freshman J Walker and of course Shead.
The rest will be a dog fight.
I agree with Pesik that we may try to bring in a true center.
While most of us are keeping our fingers crossed for the rest of this season I think we all know even better days are ahead

You forgot Shead!

they will be a lot of forced growth that will make us look dominant by seasons end for next year…

if everyone was fully healthy from day 1, shead would have been a 10-15minute rotation bench guard (who almost never shoots), Ramon gets 3 minutes every 3 games…robbie who seems to be the dog shed not sure why probably get no real time… even sharp has gone from watching practive to vital practice player…roberts minutes doesnt change but pressure on him to produce offense when fabian is out also jumps

no shead is in a postion to be all-conference player, top 4 candidate for dpoy…and forced to find confidence is his offense this year…ramon will get starter minutes, robbie benefits the most.

anything more than we get out of these 5 guys only makes 2022 better

With Kyler out with an ankle sprain, we gotta rely on our front court depth more. Lineup we could see:

1-Shead, 2-Taze, 3-Fabian, 4-Reggie/Jwan, 5-Carlton

He won’t have time to practice and get back in game shape by tournament time, best to just take it slow and let it heal correctly, save it for a bigger season next year

He wouldn’t be in basketball shape either. So, like Emmanuel Sharp, no need to rush the process

But if things get ugly this season, I’m sure Marcus will be begging to play. Sucks seeing your brothers struggle
