McCarthy's leadership (or lack thereof)

The GOP in the House hasn’t been able to get it together from the start of their terms this year. Was McCarthy the only willing person who could also get enough votes to be speaker?

If there was a vote to remove him as speaker, would they even be able to agree on a replacement?

Yes, no one wants to be the leader of the GOP in the House these days. It literally destroys people and their futures. Though the last part could be argued, because of you ascend to speaker that is usually your ceiling.
