Exactly man I don’t want these media personalities trying to push a narrative of pushing Penny out. Even if I do think it’s near the end unless something really happens this season. I like Penny at Memphis. It would be sad because it’s the end of the era. Sometimes I get sad thinking about how we don’t play them anymore too. I always loved it. intense games, trashtalk, and red vs blue always looks nice. And I’m a sucker for their fight song.
Just good vibes all around. If Memphis got their act together it’d be fun to be together in the Big 12. But they feel more like an SEC school. But they’ll probably get left behind in the American. I wish we would play them in non-conference play.
But that’s also the end of the era. There was stuff between players who had played each other before. The Tramon Mark buzzer beater, Memphis blowing us out, multiple AAC tournament games. And the last year Williams and Kendric Davis were both from Houston so they were a little extra fired up. I miss it man.
Getting shafted by the NCAA while Duke stole Zion Williamson from Kansas and Duke University did their own “investigation”. And UNC with their fake classes. What a joke.

The Memphis situation sucks all around for Memphis fans. They are stuck in the new AAC which has just 3 predicted top 100 teams. And they have way of ever getting out because if shite like this.

Memphis has been a dirty program since the days of Dana Kirk. I am not surprised in the least. Since we are in the days of NIL, stripping of scholarships is meaningless as players can more than pay for their educations while earning money with NIL deals Cutting down on the number of visits? That can be worked around.
The only way you get their attention will be tournament bans: NCAA, MTE, or any other kind you think of.

Hiring a famous alum is always a tricky deal. Penny is probably the most famous Memphis alum ever so this isn’t going to end well. He needs to just step down but his ego probably won’t let him.
