lol looks like they kicked out the Alumni group that was always here. Not sure specifically what group was always here, but there was a bar in this area.
I know the university could’ve never guessed the success of the program, but they are def regreting not making the arena larger. They are just trying to find any space and dump seats at this point.
It was the Letterman’s Club.
Laps are going to sell for $100. You gotta hold your own drink though.
Hakeem Olajuwan was said to see see the renderings of FC and said it too small. Should of listened to one of the most icons of UH and Houston sports. Also The Dream is really private so it would not shock me if he has also donate money to basketball but it kept on the down low.
Only in recent memory have we sold out the stadium. In the beggining we hadnt and the demand was not as big as it is now. Theres a reason why the 7k is perfect they just have to be strategic with placement of luxury locations. The seats directly above the club or a couple rows of media seems like the best place to add more lucury seating.
7k is perfect?
Adding luxury seating and having consistent sell outs regardless of increase in prices, day and opponent. Yes, its perfect.
7K is not perfect.
Yes cause if down the road we start losing badly again u won’t get 2K in there
Agree with Bander. We simply haveto be on the lookout for the bots that buy up all the tickets like Ticketmaster or some such. Those things are the reason why there’s a waiting list (i feel).
Let’s be honest with each other: not only had we only a handful of nice winning seasons in 30 years, we were also playing ECU and Tulsa and USF when the reno was planned. 95% of Ath Dir and college presidents would think what Sampson wanted was sheer extravagance, much less expanding to add more seating.
Elephant in the room - Houston just doesn’t have enough fans for anything. No excuses needed.
Yes the demand is there for more sales but it is not like the current seating is bad. Not sure why some of y’all like arguing something that which cannot be controlled. Just be creative and add some more seats here and there and bring more revenue in by adding luxury seating.
I would love to see an extra gift store and another set of restrooms added.
I’ve been to every home game since 1st full season in FC and only on a very few occasions has the center been full. Almost every game, there are empty seats all around . . . . .
Facts.
And all the seats are sold which is all you can do. If there 10K or 5 K there will be empties for basketball due to scheduling conflicts and scalpers putting seats in the secondary.
9K would have been the perfect size, imo!!!
But what difference does it make? What’s done is done, and going back and forth about what number MIGHT have been better is kind of pointless. We’re not going to be in a position to make any major changes any time soon, and the trend for all schools has generally been towards smaller arenas anyway.
And the fact is that there are tickets that are available to buy for every game. Yeah, they were all “sold,” but a lot of them remain for sale and don’t get bought. If people want to come to the games, they’ll find a way.
