Moving to electric vehicles will dull recessions currently inflated by oil

EVs are expensive you say? The average new car price is $50k now. Lots of EVs are around that price.

Just $50K?!?!?!

Man that is dirt cheap!

Yea, that’s a $25/hour salary. Imagine working a whole year for a car.

oh yeah for sure

I don’t have kids or any major financial problems, but boy what would I be thinking if i chose to prioritize my finance towards kids instead of a cheap, brand new, under-subsidized, $50K EV!!!

There’s no excuse why underserved communities shouldn’t be prioritizng cheap $50K EVs

I’ve no financial issues and have plenty of cash. Devoting $50k+ to a depreciating asset makes zero sense to me. I have 3 vehicles with average age of 14.3 years. Two Nissans were bought new. If I have to replace any one, it will be a used, low mileage vehicle.

Yea but the point is, even ICE cars are that expensive.

Ford Lightning is killing the cybertruck in sales…by over 40% for the year. This should be a big warning for Tesla. Ford didn’t put a lot effort into it compared to Tesla.

We buy 2-4 year old now mileage vehicles with cash every time.

Looks like it’s GM, Ford, and Tesla from the graphic. Only Tesla and Rivian
showing a negative growth. CyberTruck would probably be discontinued model if it
were any other car manufacturer. But overall EV trucks seem to be a hard sell over
the ICE equivalent.

Of course 4Q2025 will be negative for everyone…

Interesting. Tesla CyT could be 4th or 5th soon.

Trucks are a hard overall EV sell right now IMHO. They lose range when they’re towing (just as ICE cars do) but it’s a bigger problem for EVs without fast charging.

I’ll wait for the anti Tesla spin that inevitably always shows up.

I’m mainly anti Cybertruck. Notice how it’s behind the F150 on the list … Ford put about 10 minutes research into it and it’s already ahead.

Interesting trend lines for study on segment share.

And by model.

Looks like a “Mr. Bean” mobile, but partially solar powered vehicles being made in Tunisia may be in production soon:

EV Sales tanked without fed subsidies.

Sure thing. Tesla doesn’t have to rely on subsidies, and their target demographic (car ownership) is the upper middle class.

Increase subsidies for EVs, and you will see Ford, GM, Honda, Toyota EV sales skyrocket.

You increase EV subsidies, and Tesla will lose market share. It’s that simple.
