So this thread needs to go away. We were generally fine until this sat at 11am. Lsu proves us right in 11 am games suck in our part of the country. They hate it and we hate it so it is what it is . Had the game vs west vir been at 2:30 pm or better yet 7pm we wouldn’t be having this discussion so much. Hopefully tcu vs us is at night.
USN&WR is not credible. May as well pursue a ranking by the National Enquirer.

Go ahead and define the history with Austin and uta.
Furthermore the uta campus and the city of Austin have been designed to promote one another since uta was created.
Houston and the University of Houston are the exact opposite.
Whose fault is it? Clearly and without any doubts the City of Houston is indeed responsible for the third ward decay. Do some of you know that the third ward was decades ago a bustling, engaging and thriving neighborhood? Jews and African Americans made up one of Houston’s most vibrant neighborhood until pretty much 1965. After 1965 many affluent Africans Americans left the Third Ward and moved to the “burbs” Since then the City of Houston has pretty much cast aside the Third Ward. Some pol…s profited from this and they have indeed been in these positions for decades at the detriment of the Third Ward population.
To compare Austin, uta and other urban campuses like ours is as genuine as a Milli Vanilli band member.

Pitt plays at Heinz Field (home of the Steelers). They haven’t played on campus in decades. They draw about 45K a game. However, Pitt is actually a co-tenant of Heinz Field and receives a percentage of revenue from non-football related activities.

Austin is famously boring with nothing to do. That’s why it’s growing so fast, because kids from famously fast-paced and exciting cities like Houston and Dallas go to Austin and encounter a city that’s a fantastic little sleepy town oriented around families who want to settle down. 6th street is renowned for its daycares and nursing homes.
