No matter what you think of Lebron and I know I’ve been debating people about how good he is for like 15 years. You gotta put some respect on that man’s name. It’s insane that he was guarding a guy that wasn’t even born when he made his NBA debut. Like, I graduated high school the same year as Lebron and not that I was ever athletic but I have definitely hurt myself getting out of bed so…
His post play was a thing of beauty to watch… too bad it was against the Rockets.
Lebron is awesome! He’s the 2nd best player ever no doubt!
In hindsight, the alarm bells were ringing when the Rockets couldn’t close out game 3.
Maybe next year with more experience.
He has to be taking HGH or something. lol
What moves do the Rockets need to make to move up to OKC & San Antonio standards. Is THAT even possible?
Have a healthy Steven Adams, Durant and Van Vleet. That would have been enough to compete. Certainly with San Antonio.
Now that the season is over, I think Durant is gone. Burner-gate fractured the team and reports are now coming out that explain so much.
If not KD then Alpi is gone imo.
Shead is ballin’!!
Jamal with the And-1
Shead hurt his knee at the end of the half and had a notable limp. Non-contact injury. Hopefully more of a tweak than anything else.
***He’s back out to start the 2nd half. Great news!!
He is in for the start of the 2nd half.
Oof, terrible start to the second half
and the raprtors go down.
darn, was really hoping shead could play for a trip to the finals and at the same time harden comes up short, again.
Raptors lost but this whole season was a MASSIVE win for $head…!
Shead balled out.
So you like Larry Legend too ? ? ? ? ? The Celtics Coach Told His Tired Team That Anyone Who Could Make a Half-Court Shot Could Go Home. Larry Bird Asked for the Ball. Nothing But Net.
The Boston Celtics were deep into a brutal stretch of the schedule. The team was exhausted. Assistant coach Jimmy Rodgers and the staff looked at their players and made a decision.
Rodgers described what happened:
“I remember one practice, I don’t know if I was head coaching or not, but we had a pretty tough period of our schedule. We had a lot of games, the team was a little bit tired. We had practice planned out at a little seminary out there in Boston where we used to play and practice and we decided let’s give these guys an opportunity. These guys look a little tired, we said. If anyone can make a half court shot, practice is off for the day, you guys can all go home.”
One shot. Entire practice cancelled.
“So Larry said, ‘Give me the ball.’ So he steps up to half court, throws one and it’s immediately nothing but net. Everybody is hollering and hooting and that was the end of the day. He could do stuff like that. The thing you say, oh that’s impossible, no one is going to do that, he said give me the ball.”
Then Rodgers described what he believed was really happening:
“Probably in his heart and soul he knew this team needed a rest, I’ll take it on myself. Like I said, whatever was needed, he would step forward and do whatever it took to get the job done.”
Larry Bird bet reporters $5 on half-court shots. He hit 20 consecutive threes in slacks and loafers at Indiana Pacers practice. He called game-winners out loud before hitting them.
He stepped to half court because his teammates were tired.
He already knew what was going to happen.
Thanks for sharing. Larry Bird needs no introduction. One of a kind!
Who remembers when Larry Bird played UH at Hofheinz Pavillion in 1977, in the NIT Tournament, and only dropped in 44 pts. Otis Birdsong saved the day by scoring 30 pts. and UH ended up winning in a nail biter, 83-82.
