All the $$$ the majority of AAC schools have put into facilities & staff is really starting to pay off.
Seems sustainable for the most part.
Barring something unexpected, UH football will have a much tougher schedule going forward.

The AAC is a very good conference that is trending up.
We need a NY6 bowl tie in and more money.

The NY6 bowl tie-in is huge. Get that and we gain immediate legitimacy. Commish, hopefully is putting a ton of effort into that.

If the conference gets a NYD bowl automatic bid, it will come at the expense of someone else…the powers that be dont want to do that

It is making a statement that we are a good conference but it stops to the P5 cartel.

Our champion ought to immediately qualify for a NYD 6 bowl. If we had that our conference’s TV money should go up.

But would they put us up against another G5, thus tainting the NY6 and making it a precursor to G5 playoffs? I say no thanks at that point!

It would benefit the mid major conferences to restore our auto bid, like the original Big East had, because they would have to maintain the best of the others slot to avoid lawsuits. That probably means it would involve a playoff expansion to bring in another game or two, to maintain present p5 at large bids.

You would think one out of 12 spots wouldn’t be asking too much from the BCS schools. Give the AAC its due already

I would argue at this point that most years, the AAC champion will have an auto bid to the NY6.

I agree. More ranked teams than all but SEC and Big 10. Sadly, we lack a team in the top 10 which the other conferences seem to have annually. That is the missing piece I think

The missing link is that there is a cartel. It is about not wanting to spreading the money around. That is only why the cartel was created. It has nothing to do with sports. The cfp is a scam.

I wasn’t talking about the CFP. I know it’s rigged. I was talking about comparing conferences based on number of teams in the AP top 25. Scr_w the CFP and their committee!

If UH was having the season we were hoping we would have…there probably would only be two AAC teams in the top 25.
