It’s just a damn shame that greatness was denied the chance to take on greatness due to the color of a man’s skin color
A few years ago I was lucky to be part of a small, private tour of the Museum given by its director, Bob Kendrick. He has an amazing wealth of knowledge of the Negro Leagues. We spent almost three hours listening as he walked us through the exhibits.
One thing I just noticed.
All time BA numbers apparently require a minimum of 5,000 at bats.
This effectively bumps Shoeless Joe Jackson, of the infamous 1919 Chicago “Black Sox” game throwers off of the all-time list. Jackson, who had 4,981 at bats in his career before being banned from the game, had a career average of .356.
I think it’s 3k.
Where did you get that number?

And this. Which is from the MLB network.
Otherwise, Shoeless Joe Jackson should be among the leaders.
Well, what’s on mlb tv is just saying these are the top players with over 5k……I don’t seeing it say you have to have 5k to qualify to make some official list.
This is from baseball reference and says players with over 3k was the criteria.
Just to be clear, I’m not trying to say you are wrong….just that I had found something different that confirmed what I believed……
Doesn’t really matter one way or the other, was just curious.
