I work in a large public high school. There is zero “critical race theory” taught. It’s a hobgoblin intended for the naive. Anyone who thinks a law school concept is being taught in public schools is really clueless. Nothing more to say about it.

I was first exposed to CRT in my law school Jurisprudence class at UH in the mid-90s.
I had never heard of it in high school.
I work in a pretty big public school. No crt. But I will say I would love to see actual data showing the money poured into programs like reading specialists, TELPAS, STAAR Alt 2, TELPAS Alt and regular STAAR is actually producing results. And now there is the reading academy for all elementary school teachers. A grad level certificate course required to be taken by all elementary school teachers on how to get minority students to feel better about reading with artifacts brought from home. Our district is paying an additional $1000 to finish it this year so we are in compliance.
Public schools also live to promote folks with degrees in education that have read books on how to manage people. I had a principal that went from no classroom (reading specialist) to in charge of 80 adults, 600 students and all the decisions overnight. I worked in sales and sales management for 20 years before getting into education and it blows my mind on who is in charge. Lol.
But seriously, we pour money into never ending money pools. We have 10 TELPAS reps at my school that test kids. And test kids. And test kids.
If you look at HISD they have a position that makes on average 130k a year. There are 30 of them. They are called School Support Officers. They help
Mentor principals. Stuff like that makes my head explode. If public schools operated for 1 day as a private company t they would be bankrupt.
Your school is one school…States all over the country are creating new legislation to actually ban CRT…and there’s a reason for it…hell…just listen to the progressives preach in Congress…The squad is real because absolute idiots voted for them
I was talking to a friend who also has kids at the same elementary school.
He was all worked up about CRT being taught in the school and mad as a hornet
about it. Bottom line, it’s not being taught in our elementary school (that’s my personal opinion, as a parent). But folks think it is. Listening to him complain about CRT, it was obvious he didn’t have a deep understanding of what CRT even is.
