New dorm to put UH at 10,000 on campus

We have Frenchy’s that is an entertainment district by itself

With Holman Street Baptist & Wheeler Ave Baptist would make an entertainment district challenging what with liquor laws

Houston is the entrepreneurial capital of the US. If there was a viable business to open near campus, they have already done it.

A private parking lot with a shuttle would be profitable

Agreed, even the existing lineup of restaurants on campus can not make it. Take Pinks, they are gone. I do recall hearing the UH administration made rents a breaking point. What is UH doing to create the environment for companies to invest?

You can’t just say build it and they will come.

You’ve obviously haven’t seen Field of Dreams. And that was just a small town in Iowa!

LOL that earns a like.

Technically, UT/A&M are both commuter schools. In fact, many universities could be considered commuter schools by mere definition

The difference between UH and UT/A&M is that while yes, UH may have as much or more students living on-campus, the “commuters” live very far away, likely in Houston’s suburbs beyond the 610 or even Beltway.

UT/A&M’s commuters still live near the campus even if it’s not on campus-owned real estate. There are vast neighborhoods and more apartment complexes that house students. So while technically a commuter school, they are close enough to campus where it doesn’t feel like a commuter school.

Welcome back!

I’ll probably get banned again soon because I didn’t get permission to come back

I don’t understand why you were banned in the first place.

I was probably being a jacka** about something

I probably deserved it
