New polls are out

Right now IU is in the playoff and likely will make it since their last game is against Pur-Don’t, the worst team in the BIG and maybe in all of D-1 football.

So BIG will get in four teams for sure: Oregon, OSU, PSU and IU.

Suck it SEC. Greg Sankey can go cry in his cheap beer. This dude is the most sanctimonious PoS on the planet. He walks around like the SEC is not just as responsible for the current state of CFB as the BIg. Since ESPN is in the pocket of the SEC (and vice versa) they just do each others bidding. Even they are having a hard time trying to sell the idea that an 8-3 or 8-4 Bama and Ole Miss should be in the playoff over 11-1 IU. It’s a joke.

Who would you put ahead of them? Boise who’s got the same record on an easier schedule? Clemson who lost at home to SMU’s best win (Louisville)? Or one of the many mediocre 3 loss SEC teams?

Why are you surprised? This cfp is a scam like the bcs was.
Since the conferences are in charge of their media contract there is no longer a “sporting/deserving” logic behind who gets invited to the cfp.
By allowing realignment since the SWC days college football is no longer producing a deserving champion. Like it or not prior to the bcs and cfp you had sometimes multiple National champions on a given season.
Now conferences are either gone or are “diluted” because teams decided to bolt to more money.
Some of you keep writing that the BIG12 will always have a spot in the cfp. We are now facing a clear path where the BIG12 will be excluded from a…12 teams cfp. Read that again…12 teams cfp. The BIG12 was previously shun out from a four teams cfp.
If I were Yormark (he probably is already) I would go full speed after Clemson, fsu, miami and yes even smu.
Clearly I see either the BIG12 or acc on the next chopping block.
Can Yormark attract financial partners to bridge the financial gap with the p2’s?

Kiffin could apply this quote to Boise State. But he could also apply it to ut. Kiffin is also 0-3 against the Big12.

All this stuff is p, is a narrative for this “p2” talking point that they are trying to push.

Tulane would beat Illinois like a drum Law.

Take off the homer glasses.

I’d put Clemson ahead.

Indiana’s SOS is 106th in the country.

Talking about SMOO

Edit: though just to add Indianas SOS is no longer that high. ESPN has them 50th, Sagarin has them 68th, and TR has them at 38th.

I wouldn’t let SMU in unless they win the ACC.

As for Indy, I guess getting butt stomped by the only really good team they played improved their standing in that regard.

Who would you rank ahead of SMU right now?

BYU???

Hell they beat SMU in Dallas.

And they ain’t even the highest ranked Big 12 school.

Plenty of teams are more deserving.

I think BYU is underrated, I just wouldn’t have them ahead of SMU. Have to hold the Kansas loss against them. You mentioned Clemson earlier in reference to Indiana. Would you rank them ahead of SMU?

Yes, I would, actually.

They can prove me wrong if they win the ACC.

But that’s the only condition under which I’d put SMU in.

Outside of hate, how can you justify that? They’ve played 5 common opponents and SMU beat all of them by larger margins, including Louisville who beat Clemson by 12 @Clemson.

By what I’ve seen in the games I’ve watched.

Someone else called it the “eye test.”

I feel the same way about Indiana to be honest.

SMU can prove me wrong by winning the ACC outright.

What if you held the ahem BYU loss against SMU?

Like I say I think BYU should be several spots higher in the rankings. For me though, the H2H isn’t enough to outweigh the W/L difference. Especially when one of the losses is to a 5-6 Kansas team at home. And yes Kansas may be the best 5-6 team in the country but they’re still 5-6 and it’s still a bad loss.
