What a freakin disaster. And Riley tried to make it sound like ND was chickening out. I never thought I’d see the day USC would weasel out of playing ND. The beginning of the end.
I think this is the bottom line. Whatever Wylie’s philosophies might be, he has a great mindset and will push the guys. Plus, he’s going to be motivated to get his own career back on track.
Dude has a ton of legit experience. I think he’ll make a good team with Fritz.
Sorry, the coach’s BMI has ZERO to do with him being able to teach and implement a program or to get kids to buy in.
You’re right, BMI doesn’t tell anybody crap. Body Fat Percentage is a much better metric to determine program success.
ROTFLMAO!! I ain’t goin there…
Kinda funny how some people here either hadn’t heard of that rivalry, or didn’t think it was much of one.

Years ago, the football player who shined in the USC v Notre Dame game could win the Heisman! NBC(?) hyped the USC vs Notre Dame game as much as the Super Bowl! Sports Illustrated and The Sporting News went all out to claim that game had earth shattering consequences! It might have been the biggest college game in the United States.

I think I would get in shape just out of embarrassment of standing next to him.
Yeah, there’s a thing we military types call leadership by EXAMPLE.
He appears to embody it.
Anyway, besides just that, he’s held similar jobs at good programs, so he hardly seems like a bad hire.
Not sure why he would be prejudged so harshly.
Well said Ziggy…S/C is truly a people business. CWF said we must get bigger, stronger and faster . This is where all that gets started !
Go Coogs !
Ryon
The leadership model you refer to is very powerful. Coach Wylie evidently takes pride in his work…he is saying in a loud voice…“Follow Me” . I think our young men will follow. Since CWF works out with our players,he will be watching.
Go Coogs in 2026 !
Exactly. He proved to be exactly what Fritz thought he’d be. I’m not questioning a damn thing he does from here on out lol
For insurance BMI is huge. It doesn’t differentiate between muscle and fat. I always compare the heart to a 4 cylinder engine. You can put it in a 65 Caddy but, after a while, it will give out
I don’t understand the concern over Wylie. It’s not like he is going into business for himself. Fritz knows what he is doing. Social media had quotes from Lincoln Riley and Mack Brown, and they were very complimentary.
I dunno whats going on but my only concerns are:
-
His last job was at the high school level. I remember the last high school coach we hired nearly destroyed the basketball program.
-
He skips leg day. Bruh.
- He was released by Riley in April. Kind of late to latch on with a college or university. He was waiting for the right opportunity to fall into his lap.
