We have done pretty good with non-skilled bigs and developing them. This is how to construct a great roster and don’t have them jumping ship every season. There has to be guys at all levels.
This is so overplayed imo…
Our team with 4 frosh got as far as some of our senior heavy teams…
We had guys on this team highly recruited who ended up being guys who could not helps us. Now we are bring back guys from the Houston area to help us get bank to where we want to be that played at Purdue Fort Wayne snd Lamar. These guys developed and became d1 players or Sampson would not be bringing them in now. Patton had a break out year as a senior is 6’8 and athletic as more of a wing player. He needs coaching snd devrlopment. The kind who of kid who you see sign at a SF Austin snd transfer to a big school after 2-3 years.
We have 4 open ships out of 15. You can’t 15?kids who all hi all want 40+ minutes next year. Sometimes getting a couple of developmental kids is good. Helps with practice snd going z5 on 5. If he doesn’t pan out what have you lost?
Give me another Wes Van Beck type.
First time in many years that we didn’t win our conference title or conference tournament. And then on top of it we didn’t go on much of a run for a 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
IMO this team went the entire year trying to get to where everything and everyone was clicking at the same time and we never really got there…
What team did we have with 4 freshman?
Last year’s team… 3 true frosh and a redshirt frosh all had significant roles throughout the season.
Flemdawg
Cenac
Harwell
McCarty
Come on man… Zona was ridiculous last year… stahp!
We came in 2nd in what was debatable as the best conference in the country with 4 frosh…
we still did alright but imagine being told this time last year that we would end up not cutting down a single set of nets lol
We had our shots… couldn’t beat Zona…
Yea Arizona was really good. No shame in losing to them (even twice). But it is disappointing to get past conference play and get handled in Houston pretty soundly by an Illinois team that was very beatable. Had our Freshmen Cenac and Flemings been a little older, stronger and more experienced I believe they would have started finishing at the rim a lot sooner than we did after going 3/4 of the game missing jumper after jumper
I think that was our gameplan until the shots weren’t falling…
I’m way more disappointed in Sharp & Uzan in that game than our freshmen…
Sharp had 17 points he wasn’t good but didn’t shoot us out of the game hitting 7-16. If we are being honest, Cenac shot us out of building. He shot it 12 times, missed 9 of them. 6 points total on 12 shot attempts and 0 free throws all game is about as bad as it gets. He did rebound for us though I’ll give him that.
Sharp was not the ONE that lost that game. Far from it.
3-10 from 3…
Well, he could have made 1 more 3 pt. But that was not the reason we lost. Uzan played horrible and Cenac and Flemings did not click offensively and lastly, the whole year we were not an elite rebounding team.
Sharp should have been playing the 2 spot and have a a rebounder, playing the three. Too many games Sharp did not touch the ball in the first 5 minutes into the game and we were behind then EMan get the touches and magically we take the lead. Respect what Uzan did for the preceding year, but he was a bad fit for this team.
Just how tall is Jojo really? Above he is listed as 6-7. The roster cards given out at games has him at 6-8 as does the roster listed on the UH official site.
I would call him 6’7 but does it really matter?
