Watching the replay. Wilson is taller than what i remember. We might have to go 4 guards and rely on that depth. I’m just not seeing the normal Coog progression in our bigs. It was a fast paced game but Roberts looked winded and that he’s put on some not good weight, a big rarity in this program.
Here was Game 1 for those interested
Game 2 wasn’t streamed

For those that dont know, Dane Roy was a quarterback
Lol during the Louisville game. ![]()
He was the starter for us after Jimmy Klingler
I wish the video of Roy having the football team eat Vegemite was still on YouTube.
That was funny ![]()
Is Lath injured?
I just want to call out the announcer. He was great. Knew all kinds of facts about our players. Bring that guy over to the States!
It’s weird because in all 4 games I have been REALLY impressed but the same things but also concerned about the same things. Lol
Damn right! I know he threw for at least one first down! ![]()
Dunn looked good to me. He can get to his spots and to the free throw line.
Sometimes a player is who he is. I think J’Wan is who he is. I do miss him being a relentless rebounder and energy guy though.
Sharp & TA are come along nicely imo. Tugler is going to be good.
Mylik being a solid backup PG will pay dividends in conference.
What’s up with Roberts?
His motor seems to be two cylinders down.
The guy used to be one of the most efficient players in college basketball.
Injuries hurt his mojo? Not sure but we are definitely depending on him this year.
Just got done seeing the Blues vs Cougars and the initial impression is aligned to what I am expecting. The guards rotation of Shead, Cryer, Dunn, Sharp, Wilson will be better then last year rotation of Shead, Sasser, Mark, Sharp and Arceneaux by an order of magnitude offensively and will be at least equally effective defensively. Overall net positive and it’s not even close.
Forwards rotation of Francis, Roberts, Arceneaux, Tugler is less impressive than last year rotation of Roberts, Jarace, Francis. The difference is Jarace but I believe by the end of the year we will be at least as good as last year. Overall, better team then last year is my prediction by end of the year.
@Coog2010 i like what i saw from Dunn. Im sure his game speed will pick up with reps
His ability to draw fouls, is gonna be a big asset
Here it is
Announcers really do make a game much more watchable
yeah i think Sampson is accepting jwan for who he is… he said this was a “good game” for jwan and was referencing him offensively… jwan had only 2fgs, both layups… will be curious to see how teams scout us as the way it looks now, none of our 4s or 5s will be do any spacing
i love our guard depth, even ramon showed some fight today… reminds me of the covid year
some really interesting question marks when we get to playing real comp, is lj was known for lesser defense (at his time at baylor)…and it looks like sharp is solidifying a starting spot, who is also not known for great D…nor do any of the starting guards rebound… but the offensive potential of lj and sharp together is scary
my hot take: i think shead starts the whole year, but his minutes will be far less than probably many are expecting. mylik has perfromed in every sinlge scrimmage, even his stats from the australia national team werent bad …and by an insane margin our best rebounding guard… his stock has shot up the last few weeks, from last on the bench, to rest for jamal, to asset that has to have notable minutes
mylik all offseason last year after being told he wasnt good enough to be in the rotation

sharp shooting 30% from 3, and 39% from 3 is probably the difference between 4 or 5 wins this year… his efficiency has become a core tenant of this teams success
i wish we had added a touted big, i honestly think we could have been a legit title contender with just 1 notable big
i know i get attacked for saying this but rebounding seems so suspect… we on paper are a net negative rebounding team in comparison to last year, and rebounding last year was probably the worst under samspon since year 1 (not saying we are bad rebounding team, but comparison to our sampson standard)… we dont have post strength on this team, nor rebounding guards
