Norvell to FSU Done Deal

On the bottom of the ESPN ticker. Same thing every year, different good G5. Hopefully they’ll interview Norvell right before the game.

Good get for FSU if they can land him. Memphis is loaded with talent though. Norvell may want to take another year to roll the dice for less of a dumpster fire.

If we are as good as expected with King’s return with other redshirts and transfers, Memphis has to compete really hard to get by us. There is no guarantee for NY6 for Memphis next year. So, if Memphis won this year, it would be better for Norvell selling points. It is just my opinion.

If they do, check for the eye twitch. I expect Norville to be honest with his team – as naive as that sounds.

He’s gone. We’ll see what affect it has on the team.

I’ve said it on other threads Fickell scares me more than Norvell. That guy is smart as a tack and a perfect fit at Cincy and I don’t like it. Remember AAC divisions bye bye starting tomorrow night.

Having gone through it ourselves a couple times, it sucks when these rumors come out right before a huge game. Nonstop ESPN ticker is like a thousand paper cuts… The team can’t ignore it.

Agree with you :100: percent…the only thing holding Cincy back is even a decent offense.
Perhaps Bush could become their OC…

The worst part is the coach (Norvell in this case) can stop it and chooses not to.

The coaches are in a tough spot. If they say they want to wait until after the season, they may lose the opportunity.

I don’t know how you stop it but it would be nice if schools and coaches would wait until after all the games are over.

I’m not even talking about waiting. Their agents are usually the ones leaking stuff to the media. The coach could stop that.

I’m naive on these things. What’s the purpose of the agent leaking that info? What advantage does that gain the coach?

It may get Norvell money at school B. Remember Hermroid using LSU to get more money from Texas and get them to pull the trigger. There are a couple of schools looking for the coach and lots of AD’s watching that scroll on tv today and probably hearing from their boosters about maybe losing a candidate.

Should be some type of NCAA rule , no one can hire a coach till all games completed, and if u violate the rule u get the hell fined out of u, like millions lol

FSU is a hot mess. School admin don’t run the football program, boosters do.

Don’t perform as they expect and you’re gone. They fired their last coach after 19 games… think about that…

Just how smart is a tack. They are an inanimate object, but still, I hear they are pretty sharp.

Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself; the devil probably made me do it.

I think if a coach goes to his team and tells them the truth and what the next team means financially to his family that most of the players would understand because they know they would do the same. It’s the lying that kids hate. Frost handled well and his team respected him for it.

The agent’s job by definition is to make the most money for his(her) client. As long as the cfp scam continues g5’s Head Coaches will be “poached” by P5 programs. It is as simple as that.

I respect him for that as well. Maybe there are other examples but he’s the only one I can recall leaving the right way.

Special circumstances though…he was going to his alma mater so him leaving was easier to understand.
