Not sure it's fixable!

I hope Nuñez is reading the board. I suspect he may.

I’m not convinced the offensive coordinator is the problem, but if we do make a change, Marion might be a good fit. UNLV runs the ball like 75% of the time.

To be as bad as we’ve been on offense, it sort of has to be an “all of the above” situation. When you’ve been shutout for 8 straight quarters, the answer isn’t as simple as just swapping out a player like they’re a car part and turning the season around. If you think the OC is the problem, you’re right. The QB is, too. And the RBs. And the OL. And the receivers. For the offense to be this bad, it means we have big problems across the board, of the sort that they aren’t getting fixed this year.

Even the spring game was a joke. This is really awful.

Dana’s offense? Which one? The 2008 one or the one he brought from WVU?

I say try out Holman Edwards. Run some plays that he ran at his previous school.

It’s easily fixable.

Defense is great and despite no pts we’re in almost all games except Cincy.

Offensive line and rbs are ok

We just need the qb and or wrs along with play calling.

I’d say we go with chris as qb bc he’s a least an electric runner and ward like or better in that dept. Just simplify the playbook for him till he learns. We keep forgetting losing the wrs we lost does hurt a lot. We basically have mews and manjack only. Let chris roll out then the threat of him running can open wr play for what we have now. Stop the stupid penalties which can be fixed easily. Again we’re only an offense of scoring 21 pts per game then we’re bowl eligible. With this defense we don’t need high octane just some offense will do.

If we sucked on offense and defense then I’d say can’t be fixed without new coordinators. Barbay needs to get it bc Fritz said reduce the play book and don’t ask the qb to do what he can’t and OC should already have seen this.

This man said “disappointing”

How about:

  • horrible
  • Unacceptable
  • Embarrassing
  • Awful
  • Repulsive

I understood that Fritz was bringing an emphasis on a better culture and a commitment to the run game. I am 100% with him on the culture initiative but question too much emphasis on the run game. You can’t win the races without the horses and a run game depends on hosses up front…including a number of 4 & 5 star types and coaching everyone up, way up. Easier to recruit the to a winning program and, in this day and time, easier to establish winning program with skill set guys; i.e. mostly passing game —see run and shoot era with a running back going wild because defenses committed to stopping or trying to stop the pass. I think the turnaround at this school starts with culture and hiring an outstanding offensive coordinator who can (because of his successes) recruit topflight triple threat QB and receivers. Then recruit better OL talent who can run block as well as pass protect. Turning around a Power 4 school is a different animal than lower tier conferences.

I’m giving Fritz a chance. I know we won’t be as generous as Tulane was, but I always give a new coach a mulligan their first year.

Remember, people wanted Yeoman fired his first three years at UH. Times are different now, but give the man a chance before saying he sucks.

Our defense seems good. Get the offese working, improve our FG kicking, and we will have a good team.
