Tim Beck of OSU interviewed for OC position.
That would be a home run.
Seems interesting. It looks good on paper, but why would he come here? Not money, not prestige, not position. any insight?
Funny thing is he didn’t come here when Herman wanted him. So either he doesn’t like Houston or he doesn’t like Herman.
Beck has an interesting background…Among coaching stops include 6 years in Texas as a HS coach, 3 at Carrollton Turner and then 3 more at Mansfield Summit. He has spent the last 6 years as OC, first at Nebraska, then OSU. Since itcoog says he interviewed, his issue must have been with Herman as opposed to our school. INTRIGUING!
A check on his background reveals he makes something around 550 thousand per year…a little more , a little less, but around that…I think we can do better. there are probably reasons for his interest that we simply do not know…WOW…
Yes, please
Works for me. But, I will just wait and see who we actually get.
His name is also rumored for the UT OC position. This would seem to be a great hire.
Everyone at tOSU thinks their offense took a few steps back after Herman left and Beck became OC. Not sure how this would be a home run by any means.
Wow…you’re harsh but honest m8.
Meanwhile OSU is in the top four playing for a NC… if that’s a few steps back, I will take it.
Their Qb was no good.
I should have used better words. It would be a lateral move, IMO. We would pay about the same, same position, Texas Market, etc.
If he did not like Houston then why would he interview for the position?
Remember hearing those buckeyes gnash their teeth on how much they had regressed after TH left and how much they wanted to run their coordinators out of town…
Believe I read where Beck is not the play calling Co OC… Warimer calls the plays at tOSU
Makes sense with Major’s commentary about running the ball. He had some stout running offenses at Nebraska with Taylor Martinez and Roy Helu.
He had to have a running game. The three years he was OC at Nebraska they had no passing game. lol
