They were 6-10 in SEC.
And then won two games in the SEC tournament doing just enough to get a bidâŠ
According to KenPom top 10, we have the hardest path to final 4:
East:
Duke 1
Alabama 6 (5 rating gap)
South:
Auburn - 4
Michigan state - 8 (4 rating gap)
Iowa state - 10
Mid west:
UH - 3
Tennessee - 5 (2 rating gap)
Gonzaga - 9
West:
Florida - 2
St Johnâs - 11 (9 rating gap)
Makes sense HTX Chronicle reported that UH requested for the West region.
Based on this, Iâm thinking that UF and Duke are more than likely going to qualify for the final 4 (especially if Cooper Flagg is healthy). We can survive but our margin is super thin, we have to be fully healthy and hope for upsets/injuries for Tenn and Gonzaga. Last year we looked good against Duke (7th KenPom) but the Shead injury led to our loss.
I just remembered all 4 espn analysts in bracketology show picked UH to play Duke in elite 8. Two picked uh to win, the other two of course, picked Duke.

I think itâs just a post the odds scenario. I mean I wouldnât be sad to see three other regions go full nuclear in upsets and give us the easiest path to the NC. Not saying we canât byest anybody, but if youâre asking me would I rather play UCSD, Montana, etc vs. Auburn, Duke, etc. yes I would indeed take/root that.
