It’s a B, with a dash. Not a B minus. There’s a B+ that still has the dash. The dash separates the grade from the analyst.

I guess its the minus for me which makes it a few points to being in the C range.
He is definitely good enough to start for us, but its going to be Mercy’s job to lose as far as starting. He could definitely play more than 20 minutes per game for us between the 1, 2, and 3. The 6th man is a huge role on a team. Some 6th men play the same or more than starters.

For being a role player who transferred into UH, I don’t think any player has generated as much traffic on this board than Weaver.
I make that as a compliment to Weaver.

Well, the guy that used to pump fake all the time generated a whole lot of comments when he transferred here. I can’t even remember his name, from Temple.
And I think he had an opportunity to really solidify himself as a coog when Jamal went down against Duke.

He was a player I did not like when he was wearing that brown jersey for UT because he was a DOG! He is now one of my favorites because he is wearing Cougar Red. Let’s goooooo! Weaver is an awesome pickup for the culture.

This is an A+ transfer in my book. Perfect fit culture wise and exactly the kind of player we needed on this team.
He really changes the ceiling for us next year imo.

Another role I see Weaver playing is Dog Mentor. Ikenna Alozie and Tyus Thomas are true freshmen and Weaver can show the youngsters how the dog mentality translates on the court.

Weaver was only eligible because of the Colorado injunction that got reversed (stayed), right?

It’s not a reversal yet
If he’s only eligible under the Colorado injunction, then it is a reversal. By rule, 2022 graduates are not eligible for a 5th year. The injunction allowed the group to play under the theory that they had a likelihood of prevailing in the case. The Court of Appeals stayed that injunction because it believes otherwise, so the injunction was “reversed”.
No injunction = no eligibility
The injunction (only for the Colorado case) is stayed. Reversed implies a final ruling. You’re correct that as it stands now, those players are not eligible, but it is not yet final. I believe Weaver was in a case filed in Tennessee, so it is not affected the the Colorado case. But all of these cases need to be resolved ASAP or this basketball season is going to get super messy.

I only used “reversed” in answering what seemed like a misunderstanding and also reflected that the injunction was stayed. There’s nothing to “reverse” in the sense of a final ruling. But this court ruling is significant in that the justices determined that the NCAA is ultimately likely to prevail in the case.
As a practical matter, it doesn’t matter what you call it - 2022 graduates are not eligible under the Colorado class action decision, which mirrors a recent Ohio ruling.
As I posted in another thread, schools choosing to play guys who are ineligible under a federal decision in favor of going along with random state decisions are walking in dangerous territory. State courts typically do not decide NCAA eligibility cases. The NCAA should be able to have all of these state cases removed to federal court, especially given the conflicting rulings.
