Really? UConn has at least come within a score of winning. UMass’ closest loss was a two TD loss at home to a MAC team. I think I actually like UConn in this one by a TD.

I hate when people say top high schools could beat bad college teams, but with these two, I wonder. Maybe if it was an All-Texas hs team?
Well I guess we’ll get our answer Saturday. No doubt this is likely both teams best remaining shot at a win against another FBS program.

My boss’s son is a 2nd year Freshman TE for UMASS. He played a little last year. Didn’t catch a pass, but blocked well. This year, he has only been on some special teams plays.

An All-Texas HS team would murder both of these teams…or even a combo of the best players from both of these teams.
A high school team mate of mine was on the Columbia football team that had a record setting 44 game losing streak. He lost more games his freshman year than he had ever before in all years combined from elementary through high school.
They didn’t win till his senior year, beating Princeton in the 4th game…the win got him an interview on ESPN though, so that was really cool. Funny part of the interview was at the end…

Reporter: So, is Columbia going to go on a win streak now?
John Alex(laughing): Uh…I don’t think so. Every time we have a team meeting we can’t stop talking about the win…so we haven’t gotten much done preparation wise for this next game…

I know people say that the best college team could never beat the worst NFL team and I tend to agree. But I think the gap between the best High School team and worst College team is alot closer. Simply put the worst college team is not necessarily a collection of the best High School players like the worst NFL team is.
