Bob Huggins cant find a ride ?

Many of the recent interviews that I saw with him I strong suspected he had been drinking. I don’t know his history, but alcoholism is a progressive disease and his alcohol problems have progressed pretty significantly. He is 69 years old with a serious drinking problem. He can choose to be sober over the remaining portion of his life or he can choose to sink further into his disease. It is up to him. The sad statistic is that 90% will choose to to sink further into their disease.

There is an answer if he wants it, but you have to want it.

He’s rich. He has resources. His biggest problem will be staying out of the public eye as several months from now we’ll read about his recovery and reputational resurrection or his failure to change. Somebody is already pitching these stories.

He’ll certainly coach again if he wants to. He might need to as part of dealing with whatever is going on.

Probably will end up with liver disease/cancer if he keeps it up

Huggins is extremely overweight, which in and of itself, is a major risk factor. He has a history of heart issues and has a defibrillator for a congenital irregular heartbeat. We know he drinks, at least occasionally, in excess. Leaving coaching at this point could be the best thing for him. I hope Huggins takes this time to take care of himself mentally and physically.

I was looking forward to facing him in the Big12.

Ditto. I wanted revenge on the Old Enemy. Crap! Well, guess I’ll go back to hating Cronin.

Coaches of his ilk are big on player accountability. What a surprise to learn of this news. Couldn’t have ever seen something like this happening.

Going after Huggins by playing his full comments got Josh fired from Locked On.
Worked out. 365 Sports w Smoaky x 2 w Paul Cat, Garrett w Jack a much better spot.

Jeff Boals looks like a fit if they don’t go big name.

Why wouldn’t Huggins be redeemable. Making fun of social strata is just that…fun.

DUI is a serious offense. But people change afterward. I had a DUI as a teen and it served as impetus for training my kids and their friends about the dangers of driving drunk. It was actually a blessing because I spent years thinking about what might have happened.

Damn, his drinking problem may be worse than we knew. He doesn’t even remember resigning. :grimacing:

If true, would be so terrible.

How Bizarre Reaction GIF

The university on Saturday released an email that was sent from an account belonging to “June Huggins” – Huggins’ wife – to athletic director Wren Baker the day the head coach announced his resignation that said, “Please accept this correspondence as my formal notice of resignation as WVU Head Basketball Coach and as notice of my retirement from West Virginia University, effective immediately.”

So it’s that easy? We just need to set up a Gmail account belonging to “Dana Holgorsen” and send a simple email? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
