Former Colts and Dolphins coach Don Shula passed away at age 90. He was a great coach and, from all accounts, a good guy.

Agree. Always thought Shula and Chuck Noll came from the same DNA.

He was not only tough, but innovative. A story that goes severely underreported is that he changed the way his team trained in the weight room.
He threw out all the old Universal Gym equipment, and replaced then with brand new technology (at the time)…Nautilus equipment.
Inside of a year, the entire team was literally stronger than everyone else, who were still using the old stuff…
An undefeated season followed.

My grandfather spent a lot of time with Shula when they were both in their early 20’s. He said that he was a stand up guy.

I was hoping he would live to see someone break hiis undefeated record. New England was close.
