They should’ve been able to get AD, Reeves, multiple firsts, multiple swaps, and unloaded their worst contract and they’d still arguably have lost the trade. Lakers absolutely took Dallas for a ride.

There have been stories coming out that he is 30lbs overweight and they had to shut him down for a week earlier in the season to work on his conditioning.
New ownership maybe had an issue giving 350 million to a guy who can’t stay in shape.
The Lakers not only got a top 5 talent they got him with a 100 million discount because with being traded he is no longer eligble to get that 350 million supermax contract.
From the sound of it, it doesn’t even sound like Dallas really did their due diligence in shopping him around. I don’t think most teams even knew he was available.
I think he has alcohol issues that they’re aware of ,and other teams aren’t, after the incident last season where they took that beer from him after winning a series… and he has conditioning issues… just my hypothesis.
