OT: More Proof UH Is Transforming to Traditional Campus

Hey Cullen, just so no one is confused. What do you love about The UofH? Sometimes it seems like you hate the school. Tell me I’m wrong. Thanks!

Yes, but thise dinosaurs come with the perks of earning so much more than just a degree durung their 4 year college chapter.

Yes, UH has a few leaders in the business world but the COMPLETE type of leader/Person/professional is upper tier for alums from schools like Michigan, Ohio State, Texas, USC, Florida etc.

Its the reason the majority of alums send THEIR children to those type of places.

UH alums churn our fine worker bees but i WANT more for every student that steps onto CULLEN BOULEVARD

Why do you deny being UH1927

Lol it would take an investor to buy up multiple blocks of the third ward and bulldoze it… yes bulldoze

Then we can have our oasis, while were at it can we build a lazy river to the front entrance of the school?

I earned 2 degrees from UH.
Am a legacy student.
Actually i am one of 4 Cougars in my family.

Ive lived on campus and a mile from it for a decade after graduating so ive seen it in many eras

And evho Renu Khator’s Traditional school vision 100% and am not aftraid to take on old commuter school Cougar High Working Class Universities dinosaurs like yourself.

Bring it!

There are likely already investors that own properties in third ward but don’t want to remodel homes yet until the area changes

There’s more money in residential housing than turning an area into student housing

That will happen if and when there is demand for it. Given the lifespan of every business that goes into that shopping center on MLK, I think we’re a long way from that.

We need ONE developer to come in an build a City Centre type of place…a true University District
.
The small time developments won’t get it done

Shoot out here in Austin the city rezones against the will of the current residents constantly.

Gotta make room for turning ATX into cyberpunk city. (Not saying its cool or nothing, i personally cant stand the cardboard box highrise apartments popping up everywhere out here)

And to shock many here…the University of Houston STARTED out as a Traditional University.

Renember the Greatest College Show on earth in the 1940s

It became commuter in the 60s and 70s

That’s what they did when they built Rockefeller Center …it was very Third Wardish before

I wish Austin would turn into Cyberpunk City. It’s tech bros LARPing as Cowboys and trying to start Galt’s Gulch.

Nailed it:joy: :joy::joy:

That’s not going to change anything.

You’re completely oversimplifying a fantasy that’s far more complicated than you’re making it out to be.

UT Austin is the flagship school in Texas, and they have much higher ranked programs especially in their business and STEM programs. They also have an academic reputation that’s been built over a century. UT also has had lots of control as to how the city of Austin develops and in making sure the city is built with UT at its core.

You can’t just build housing infrastructure around campus and immediately expect people to live there.

One of the reasons people have chosen UH over other schools over the last century is because they can remain at home while getting a 4 year degree. There’s nothing wrong with this.

UH is never going to be like UT. That doesn’t mean UH can’t improve its school spirit and on-campus participation, but you’re essentially hoping that UH will replace UT or something and that will never happen.

Also and most importantly - why do you deny being UH1927?

Because to do otherwise would be to admit to ban evasion, which is against the rules of basically every forum that’s ever existed. Maintaining kayfabe doesn’t compel action on the part of the mods.

He hates himself/UH so much he had to create a new persona, who also hates himself and UH.

Keep thinking SMALL

Ill keroung thinking positively for the University of Houston.

Lastni checked we were tops in many degree programs.

Best Entrepreneurship programs in the nation (ahead of Harvard and Texas)
Multiple speciality law degrees that are near the top.

A top creative writing program

One of only three Universities in the entire state of Texas to offer an accredited undergrad architecture degree. (RICE and Texas being the other 2)

Im sure maby here can add many more examples but you keep thinking we are only a 1st generation commuter school…ILL join Renu Khator’s fiight in the opposite.

Harvard doesn’t even offer an Entrepreneurship program at the undergrad level.

I got banned and made a new one with the exact same name except added number 2 as you can see

They ain’t did nothing to me
