Past performance is not indicative of future results, as they say.
that is neat for the UH technology center, that place was a dump.
tech will be the future and UH needs a great tech building to attract tech students.
I am glad that my two favorite alma maters have both taken the right steps in this regard.
My undergrad college opened a very similar space called âThinkBoxâ in 2015.
Now, my law school and #1 sports alma mater is opening up this huge, similar space.

Great moves by both schools to meet future educational/entrepreneurial/technological needs!
Where was the Technology building?
Next to butler plaza/library/pgh/agnes arnold, across from the power plant
Is this supposed to be enjoyable to watch?
Yep. Itâs kinda frustrating. Arizona has only two schools it wants to make research super stars. It wasnât that long ago that the general perception of ASU was that was an academically underwhelming party school, Then suddenly out of nowhere, it is invited to the AAU, due in large measure to its impressive 600 million plus in research dollars.
I hope it stays that way. But eventually robots will do almost everything. Hopefully the tech will still allow one to use their own creativity to solve problems.
Was that where the computer lab was?
Then what will people do for jobs? Somebody has to be able to purchase things produced by robots and AI.
Worse case if unemployment is too high , they will have to have national income support at least at a minor level. Iâd see that as worse case.
So where would the government get said income for national income support. Every penny the government gets comes from the peopleâs taxes.
Not to be completed until 2028, will be construction on campus for 100 Celebration.
They would tax the companies that get rid of most workers in exchange for robots. The companies could handle the tax because itâs way cheaper to run businesses with robotics. Robots and AI donât require pay, benefits nor healthcare. Like mentioned above, the people need money and the economy needs buyers with money. Elon Musk mentioned this. The economy will boom but the unemployment / lack of consumer money would have to be addressed if 25% etc are out of work. The economy collapses if consumers donât have the money.
This is worse case. I believe it might not go to that unless necessary but see a blend of AI creating some jobs and or workers adapting like they mostly do.
Probably be forced onto the government dole.
Yep caught me dreaming again. I just passed thru the campus going towards the Krogerâs down Cullen and noticed that all the Fingersâ artifacts are now gone including the arches that were once preserved for some reason. On to my dreaming.
How about UH purchase the remaining lot(s) of the former Fingerâs site and move the Carl Lewis and Tellez complex to the Fingers lot(s) and replace the track complex with some student associations and greek housing to support the athletic district. The synergy around student associations, greek residence, and near by athletic venues is sure to breed increased attendance to events. Before some yell, âUH does not support the Greeksâ, I say we have to start somewhere right?
It has been a really good school for decades. USC is also considered a party school and it is indeed a great school.
kwuh97 just hit the jackpot:

Adult daycare?
If you outsource all those jobs, how are you going to have anyone experienced enough to do the higher level white collar jobs?
Are you implying the Fingers property is at a premium?
The campus seems land locked with freeway, train tracks, bayou and Third Ward, if there is expansion is has to go somewhere. UH Medical School is pushing bounds to Bayou, and UH Schlumberse property is across the tracks.
