OT: Oklahoma State fires Mike Gundy

UH was ranked 105th in recruiting when the media asked him about any potential late commitments. And the responded “that ship has sailed”.

Then he was fired.

Basically we were the worst P5 recruiting team, and over half the G5 was out recruiting us.
Same guy who said, “I can’t coach this St!”. Well, Dang, Dana, that’s YOUR st.

And after DH was fired, Dr. Khator said: I don’t want to have to tell my football coach to do his job.

That’s a paraphrase, but accurate. I’m sure folks can find the video online.

Many OSU players indicating they will be transferring. Anyone we would want?

A fairly lengthy article in the Athletic on how Gundy and Oklahoma St. got to this place. It is a free article and the link is below.

Nothing earth shattering but it was interesting to read some of the background of QB Alan Bowman’s NIL deal. Also, Gundy still wants to coach.

Dabo is next

Dabo is similar to Gundy. They were both late to embrace NIL and deal with unlimited transfers.

And both are stubborn.

DH is a worse mullet version of Gundy. But if it gets him off our payroll, go Cowboys go.

Oh, that’s right!

Now I’m hoping he gets the job…we could use that $$$ for NIL on the Football side

Houston Chronicle’s list of candidates:
G.J. Kinne: Texas St. HC
Collin Klein: Texas A&M OC
Ben Arbuckle: Oklahoma OC
Will Stein: Oregon OC
Tyson Helton: Western Kentucky HC
Eric Morris: UNT HC

We can’t use that for NIL can we? It can’t come from the school.

Yes and no; if our donors’ money is freed up by no longer having to pay Dana’s contract, they can instead contribute to NIL, I think.

Kind of funny that Oregon OC Will Stein is on the list and UTSA HC Jeff Traylor is not. Stein was Traylor’s OC three years ago.

Maybe the Revenue Sharing part?

I believe that comes directly from the school, iirc.

Oh ok.
