OT: Tillman's Yacht

I had an inflatable boat once. It sank…

You do know that this yacht took 4 years to build, don’t you? It was mentioned in one of the articles linked here. So he probably bought it in 2018…2 years before COVID. But don’t let that get in the way of your hate.

“Tiny violins” …… that’s not what I was after but I find that amusing…… I was on deaths door and your friends lost their jobs as waiters and were treated so badly…. But I’m the one playing the violin?! okay swifty if you say so….your original posts is about wanting people to feel bad for your friends….Can I play in your orchestra? Lol

Then you did more dribbling than both teams at the basketball game….

And lastly you claim I wanted to have some sort of work ethic competition with you? Wtf? I really don’t care if you worked or not…… I could really get into it right now and embarrass you to know end….but you’ve done a dapper job of doing that yourself……plus after work tomorrow I have violin practice.

Please  put me on ignore…… seems like you should be too busy for this board anyway.

no offense meant to anybody here but this has been my take through many decades. I rarely see much deviation proven otherwise.

Wealthy people are far too greedy to “hoard” money. They know they lose interest and they lose by the amount of inflation.

They instead INVEST… investments make jobs. Tax cuts on two occasions (maybe more) vaulted me out of unsustainable wages into being able to catch up on bills and former bad life/financial decisions.

Government ideas as to where to spend our money more often than not, does nothing to improve the country’s national financial security.

Sending billions to countries who want us eradicated from the face of the earth and who see that the general public in their country does not benefit is evil.

That is surely not always the case but in general, every time the government gets money or power, they abuse it.

Don’t let the media tell you all business is bad, evaluate for yourself and let your spending vote as well as an informed ballot.

In spring of 2012, the Euro hit the skids. A large company I worked for at the time had obligations in those countries and various sites in The US. While the Texas sites were doing well, we had to have some reduction of employees to help the fact that Europe was going through hard times.

My global cyber security multi-year project was moving from capital based to run the business, maintenance mode, requiring less personnel.

I was laid off and understood that. I was not happy because I had very valuable experience and could work in several roles in the company. It was best however, under the sensitive circumstances of what I knew and privileged access I had, that were I REALLY disappointed with the company I was a potential threat.

There was probably more than one job that was saved somewhere because I lost mine. As one gets older and pays attention to what is going on, one gains broad perspective as long as he refuses to be led to selective information and sources.

The manipulation of minds has been increasingly more sinister all my life. Please forgive that I worship only God. Man just tends to screw stuff up.

Ever notice ad hominem tactics and sarcastic exaggeration are most often used by the young or ungrounded?

Gotta bail on this thread, bye

I’m pretty sure there’s no ageism in treating people poorly, especially online. The only difference is the language used and names called, from what I’ve seen.

Now, “ungrounded” can mean a lot of things, but even they aren’t immune from the need to win every argument by any means necessary. Regardless, it’s always a bad look.

It seems to be the case in humanity everywhere. Sometimes we gotta agree to disagree but no need for folks to be nasty.

“Hate.” That’s you projecting, bud.

By all means, here’s your walking papers. Understand it’s more thsn just the economy, Ive got a boat to pay for that you helped me purchase. If it was just the economy then we’d still be good. Of course, I couldn’t sell the Rockets, a pillar of the Houston economy, it eas a boyhood dream, nothing more. Good luck with yours and thanks for helping with mine.

Say um, show me where the ad hominem attacks were initiated. You’ll find the AARP discount crowd threw down the gauntlet. Nice try in trying to frame a psychological profile.

I rest my case

What kind of returns does the great satan and atm get on the PUF?

Tilman was born into wealth?
Have you even read how Tilman made the fortune that he has today?
https://www.landrysinc.com/about-us/landrys-history
Have you ever been in charge of wealth?
Have you ever been able to to transform a small company into an International Company?
Have you ever been in charge of payroll?
Have you ever hire someone but yourself?

Why so much hate?
Why so much disdain?
Why so much envy?
For someone, anyone that is financially successful?

TOP25 made an excellent point. You hate Tilman’s fortune? Why don’t you picket, demonstrate in front of the Texas State capitol the PUF hijacking by the great satan and atm?

Tilman came from very humble beginning. Not born into money.

Tilman_Fertitta was born in Galveston Texas He is of Italian descent. His father, Vic, owned a seafood restaurant on Galveston Island, after school, Tilman would peel shrimp in his father’s restaurant. First entrepreneurial experience was selling Shaklee vitamins. By the way I did to. Except he became a billionaire along the way I didn’t.:rofl::rofl:

And others citing ad hominem attacks.

And it sometimes requires sarcasm when it’s a response to pure stupidity, lack of reading comprehension, changing the subject matter.

You were making casino worker wages?

Have you ever read about Fertitta family history? Have you ever read about their “other” connections?

So just because people got laid off doesn’t mean he should be allowed to spend his own money on things he wants? Wow brilliant argument. So you’ve never spent your money on something that a co-worker or employee couldn’t get? Tillman did absolutely nothing wrong here and it’s ridiculous that people think he did. Apparently being wealthy is a crime nowadays.

Oh, you gotta love the hate lay down.

Interesting fact. Clark County (Las Vegas) basically considered the worst school district in the country. Only until recently, when forced by that darn repressive government, were the casinos giving anything but a mere pittance to support education there. If you engage in hyperbole to lay down hate at me, now there’s some real hate. Unwilling to do hardly anything for local schools while drowning in excess and wealth.

I guess that’s what some people love. I’m just talking about being responsible to your community/your company’s employees that one chose to be in and chose to employ to benefit yourself, and not using others only when its convenient or initiating misfortunes on others while benefiting oneself or turning a blind eye to it.

And so people take that and run to the extremes, laying accusations that simple staying on topic and reading comprehension would prevent, initiating the personal comments/attacks that are instead charged as having emanated from elsewhere.

That’s some great logic there. Who said he shouldn’t be allowed? So you’re saying he shouldn’t be first responsible to those that were laid off that helped him make that money? Obviously not. I guess we all have our own convictions, beliefs, and willingness to step up and do the right thing or not … before we spend lavishly.

Well that’s basically what you are saying bub

No it’s not, bub. Never once said he shouldn’t be allowed to spend his money. But again I guess we differ in priorities as to how we respond as men.
