I even remember some of that when I was looking at college, I would get mail from some of the weirdest places I specifically remember Pratt sending me something more than once.
Theyâd probably own McDonaldâs which is not the same as serving at McDonaldâs. To say that jobs and gates would not have been successful is A pretty big stretch to try and prove a false point.
Probably why Yormark is trying so hard to get the Big 12 brand more exposure in Mexico via athletics
ENIAC allowed modern computing to be developed. It necessarily preceded all modern computing. Without ENIAC there would not be compilers (IBM) or ARPANET (DoD) or time-sharing (BBN). you canât run those things without it and subsequent developments.
Just 14 years after ENIAC was created, I was creating software for Houston companies. A computer was available but a compiler was not.
dude, you canât leave us hangingâŠwhat happened in Osaka? lol
My son got letters from UT (5 letters), A&M Rice(4 letters ), TT (10 letters so far) and several from SMU, BaylorâŠpretty much every other Texas school except UH. Weird, especially when my oldest daughter, my wife and I are alumni.
I am sorry, but this is one of the oldest and silliest tropes I have ever read.
The idea that Bill Gates, Zuckerberg and Jobs were âso brilliantâ that they would have succeeded at anything is just dumb. There is absolutely no evidence for this. You know how many people are in prison right now with high IQs? How many rich athletes and entertainers who can barely spell their names? What about our teachers?
You donât need to take my word for it; just ask Bill Gates. He was asked what was his secret to success. You know what he said? âLuckâ.
And what does that have to do with anything I mentioned. These guys were shrewd enough to start their companies and sell their product and that could have been replicated in any other product.
Guys in prison with high iqâs doesnât prove anything. Especially that Steve Jobs couldnât go out and start different companies. Which, he actually did. And then was asked to come back to Apple. So he definitely would not be a server at McDonaldâs like was so ignorantly mentioned.
Bill gates was lucky that he went into business when the pc business was taking off but he is also business savvy and would not be working at a macdonalds.
Used to be when u got ur SAT or ACT scores u would receive letters from everyone, not sure if thatâs the case anymore?
Sounds like we have plenty of opportunity to increase applications.
UH is for THE PEOPLE!
See you at Utah and KSU.
This was me⊠Iâm a high school dropout and Cullen College of Engineering grad with a BSEE.
Howâd you get into UH as a college dropout? Community college route?
It really doesnât matter to me how he did it, I applaud his effort and graduating in a very difficult degree. Regardless, it backs my post he was referring to. Once actually maturing and given a chance he graduated and is contributing to society in a much needed capacity. Regardless of the industry, it needs electrical engineers and designers.
I got a GED and went into the Navy⊠got out and aced calc, university physics and chem 101 at junior college and then transferred into general studies at UH⊠Then into EE College.
And giving back to dear old U of H⊠![]()
UH can be for the people, but still be selective. High GED scores and test rates along with other factors (work, military, community college) can still go towards admissions. I want all students who can succeed academically to get their chance, not just those that meet predetermined stereotypes.
In my view, if you go to a JUCO for two years and make a 3.0 or better in transferable courses, you should be admitted, regardless of HS record.
Thatâs what I did. Didnât even take the SAT
