Shouldn’t this be on the women’s sports board?

I have absolutely zero problems with a program that has been down so long getting attention from the most visited board here. Great for them and maybe this will give them a little bit more visibility from fans who only focus on football and basketball.

I would put in the Satellite

There is already a women’s sports forum. That’s part of the problem. Many here don’t even look past the two primary boards. Sometimes when something good is happening to a sport that has been down or a good achievement by a so-called secondary sport, it really hurts no one to bring it to the attention of the majority until it is moved.

They’re undefeated but are they really leading the Big 12 if they haven’t played any Big 12 Teams yet?

The baseball and women’s sports sections should be above the satellite.

I think it’s by the amount of traffic it generates…

Baseball used to be above the satellite.

Gotcha

Are there not any good local tennis players? I noticed that most of them are from overseas.

Not trying to be judgmental, but I think Tennis is far more dominant in west / east coasts (the Greenwich, Connecticuts of the world), whereas the south is far more football/baseball/basketball/soccer dominant

Due to the lack of high level talent outside those areas, you have to look for talent outside the country

If there are, I bet they are more interested in going elsewhere.

The elite tennis players in Houston are probably going to be concentrated in the River Oaks/Memorial areas

But they’re probably getting scholarships to out of state programs

A few years back, I knew a local HS tennis player who was ranked fairly well. She spent her summers at one of the big tennis camps in Florida for emerging talent.

I asked her about playing tennis in college. She was not that excited about the prospects. She said that older overseas players dominate the good teams, and it is difficult for US kids to get a spot unless they are stellar, really stellar.

She ended up ok. She’s in her first year, on her way to her PhD in Biochemistry after completing her masters degree last year.
