Pitching

Record: 10-9

Team ERA 5.86

Innings Pitched: 166

Free Passes: 122 (89 BBs, 33 HPs).Average of 6.6 Free Passes each game. That is… not good.

19 wild pitches

1 Balk (Thats pretty good!)

Where is Cherry and his sub 1.5 ERA and 18ks through 12 innings. Just sitting there eating popcorn watching the Ls rack up? Hes certainly not hitting, I see zero at bats.

Those are some alarming stats from a pitching standpoint.

UofH: 166 innings, 123 BB/HP, 5.86 ERA, Record 10-9
Rice: 163 Innings, 96 BB/HP, 5.19 ERA, Record 10-9
TCU: 174 Innings, 89 BB/HP, 3.57 ERA, Record 13-7
Texas: 177 innings, 93 BB/HP, 3.45 ERA, Record 14-6
Aggies: 194 innings, 81 BB,HP, 3.20 ERA, Record 15-7
TTech: 176 innings, 110 BB/HP, 3.68 ERA, Record 16-4

Through 19 games, UH pitchers are allowing 2 more walks/hit batters on average per game than 5 Texas school peers. Hitting 33 batters in 19 games and walking 89 in 166 innings shows a lack of command. Can someone explain the pitching mentality these days? Velocity seems way up compared to 1995-2015 but location has not improved. Do pitchers only care about velocity now?
