I never got the story on who these guys are but they’re not professionals. For one, they’re not all wearing the same Jersey. Definitely not Jordan. One guy had to use magic marker to change his jersey number. But they did have refs, a scoreboard and a scorer.
I think these are like club teams, except most of the guys are in their 30s and 40s (at least). Judging by FT shooting I’m pretty sure that most of them are brick layers in their day jobs. I watched for at least an hour, would estimate the FT percentage was in the low teens.
There was a double header going on too. In the second game it was old fat guy team vs Junior high toothpick kids team. Fun matchup. Coach Sampson would probably describe them as elementary school physiques. Except the Junior high kids had a 30 year old 6’8" baller. Looked like he may have been a former pro at some level. Good times.
