Random fun question now that the first major poll is out. (Donât think AP is out yet):
What 3 teams NOT in the top 12 or UH (take out the obvious answer) do you think make the CFP?
I will add my three to get it started (random order):
First - Boise State - have to get a G team in there by the rules, and I think Boise wins the Pac State conference. They have Memphis early and a win there can help keep them above the AAC.
Second - USC - Riley always does offense and led the Big 10 last year in offense. With the changes to the D side they have a chance to improve that side. It is one of those stories where people say âIf those two coaches ever got on the same teamâŠâ Well weâll see.
While I think BYU is the team to beat in the Big 12 this year, I want a long shot instead of #15 for pick three. Should be obvious
Third - TCU - They got rid of Briles as OC and should be able to fix several of their issues on that side. That plus several key players are still there and younger talent will have a chance to shine. - plus I think the Big 12 gets two teams this year. I think Tech falters a little and Utah not as good as voters think.

No bc ND isnât officially an ACC member but simply play a bunch of ACC teams in football.
Any nc before a playoff is just an opinion. And thereshouldnât be any polls (opinions).

Everyone who answered is correct, with two caveats. Notre Dame is not an ACC member in football and ice hockey. For the other sports, including basketball, they are an ACC member. Notre Dame is an independent in football, and since the ACC does not sponsor ice hockey, Notre Dame competes in ice hockey as a B1G member.

Think about that UNLV game that started the 2024 season. No bigger turnaround in 2 years starting with that bottomless pit display. Yes I know that was a remnant of offensive wizard run it up the middle on 3rd/4th and 1.

UH is about right.
There is no way that the students at the Peopleâs Republic of Austin are as low as #41.
Only 7 schools in the country are currently ranked (pre-season) in BOTH football AND basketball.
